7 years ago today…
I married the man of my dreams.
June 30th, 2001.
It was a hot day. Not just “hot.” I’m talking HOT. Like 100 degrees HOT, with humidity. I still like to joke with my husband that it is a sign of how “hot” are love is for each other!
But 7 years ago TODAY, I walked down the aisle on my father’s arm with Canon in D playing to the most handsome man my eyes had (and still have) ever seen… and all I could do was beam at this man before me, waiting for me… and I couldn’t help but dream of my life with this man as my husband. It’s a moment in time that I will never forget.
I have always believed in love at first sight. In fairy tales and in happily-ever-afters. And in love that lasts a lifetime. That’s the romantic in me. And as they say, when you’re not looking… love will find you. And it did on October 28, 1998. He found me. And I found him. We found each other. And every thing about the world suddenly made sense. I’m a strong woman on my own. But in meeting Matt… I knew that I didn’t want to go another day without this man in my life.
I guess that’s what “they” mean when they say you fall head over heels in love.
And so. Here we are today. Older. A little wiser. And oh-so-much-busier. But fulfilled beyond words.
7 years as husband and wife.
Within the past 7 years has been 4 apartment moves in NYC.
The purchase of our first home.
2 job changes.
And our greatest accomplishment, our 4 beautiful boys – William, Alexander, Benjamin and Henry.
Our days are different now than they were 7 years ago. We no longer have the one-on-one time that we once had… and our “date nights” have become fewer and farther a part…
But waking up next to this man every morning. This is my happily-ever-after. My fairy tale come true.
Happy Anniversary! Yes, this day 7 years ago was HOT… but it was an absolute blast! Love you!

HH and I were married 3/31/01, so we’ve been married only three months longer! Of course, I feel like a bit of an underachiever, since you’ve managed to birth FOUR boys in that time!

I remember the day well!!! It was HOT but so beautiful! I will never forget you and Matt hitching a ride home with my Dad in van he calls ‘The Howdy”. Why dont we have photos of that anyway? Plus the BBQ the next day was so fun. can you say Watermellon eating contests and three legged races overlooking the ocean at Colt State Park?
