Sharon, what a loving story. I wish I could share a similar one. My Memere Ross died in 1845, at 56, before any of us was born. My Memere Fontaine died when I was in my teens, but though she had seven children, she never really liked children much, so she sure wasn't the "huggy, warm, loving, cuddly, laughing, solid, eye-twinkling" type of grandma you remember. Ah, well.....

Sharon, you are sent from God. Today as I was driving (before I'd even turned my computer on for the day) I was flooded with memories and emotions of my Pa Pete. I cried and talked to him as I drove. When I read this, I cried again. I just finished my post about him. I feel so thankful to have had someone like him and it really was amazing to be able to sit and remember him tonight. Thank you for posting this, your Nana Burke sounds like a great lady.

First, thanks for the encouraging comment on my blog!

Second, I enjoyed reading about your nana. She sounds like a sweet lady - that also had a lot of spunk! What a nice tribue to her.

You have a great blog - I'll definitely stop by again! :)

That was beautiful! I was 4 when Nana Burke died... so I have known her through you. This is a very special post.
