I was also in class at the time. It was a Speech class, and the boy presenting that day gave a speech on carpe diem, and how we should all go out and sieze the beautiful day (because the weather was amazing that day). As I left class and walked back to my dorm, I remember feeling like campus was oddly quiet. When I walked back into my dorm, the TV in the common room was on, and I caught a snippet about a plane crash as I got on the elevator. It wasn't until I walked into my room to find my suitemate in tears that I fully realized what had happened, and why no one was out and about. I still get chills when I think about that boy's speech, and the eerie timing of his words about how life is short.

I was also in class at the time - Macro Economics, and our teacher interrupted class to say it looked like we were under attack and then went on to continue to teach. I couldn't wait to get home and talk to all my loved ones. Our entire sorority house sat around and watched CNN for days straight, huddled together.
