What to wear, what to wear? Plus a giveaway!

It’s been a long time since this body wore a dress without a “maternity” label. This Saturday I’m attending a family wedding in Pittsburgh, PA. This side of the family hasn’t seen me NOT pregnant in 4 years. Count ‘em up. Not 1. Not 2. Not even 3. But 4 years.

So, of course, I want to try and look fabulous… for Matt too, who am I kidding, he’s the most important one I want to look beautiful (and ultra-fabulous!) for. I tried on about 20 dresses last night and narrowed down my top 3. Now I need some help from my mama (and dad and non-parent) blogging friends – WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Watch the next 3 clips… see me in the dresses and tell me which one I should go with.

  • Not that I’m a fashion expert by ANY stretch of the imagination, but #3, the black strapless one…(I think I’m jealous b/c I want a black strapless dress, lol!!) But that’s my choice! :)

  • I love the pink dress. It is beautiful.

  • I would wear the black or chocolate brown strapless. However, I would not do boots with that dress, it is too long and will they will dress it down too much.

  • I’m liking that pink one as well. You look great!

  • I would go with the chocolate brown strapless. :)

  • Okay. Totally #3 and go with Brown for the wedding in Fall. Make sure you self tan and hair up to show off your great collarbone and neckline. Go with a really cute fall goldleaf necklace and gold pumps or brown suede heels.

  • I love dress #2!

Your bedroom is GORGEOUS by the way!

  • I like either the brown or black strapless-definitely! A very “Fall” look. I also agree with someone above, and would wear the shawl, but not boots. I think a nice pair of heels would keep it dressy, and it’s still warm enough to have your ankles exposed!

Also, I’m a huge jewelry girl (I actually sell it!!) and would go for a double or triple layer of beads on your neck, with a matching pair of earrings. I have great suggestions if you want them…
but you just asked about the dress!

You look like one hot mama in those strapless dresses!!!!

  • I like the pink choice. I believe its look softer and more feminine … made for a wedding.

  • I like the third one and in brown for a nice fall color. They are all beautiful, though!

  • I love the 3rd one the best. I felt the pink washed you out a bit. Definitely #3. You can really accessorize and stand out depending on accessories of course.

  • I think the 3rd on is my favorite as well and you MUST wear the baseball cap as well. After all, a girl has to have the right accessories. LOL!!!

  • Hands down last dress, you sex mama.

  • I like the third- either color-and I agree, no boots.

  • #3!! You look hot! And oh my gosh I can’t believe you can wear a strapless after 4 kids. I’m so jealous! You must either have the stuff they make stretch armstrong out of in your DNA or have an amazing bra!

I wouldn’t do the boots though with that dress! Show off your legs and go with a sexy high heel or strapless shoe that will make your legs look even longer and thinner.

  • Well, it looks like #3 is winning so far… but that’s not my pick! I actually like number 1. I think it looks really mod and funky and would be great for an “in” glamorous look! I’m assuming you’d wear your hair up? :)

  • I like the third dress in the brown but I am going to go against the grain and say to wear your black boots. I think the boots, the shawl and a bold necklace will really make a statement and look fabulous.

  • #3 all the way – you really look great! I can’t believe you had even ONE child!!!

  • Definitely #3! You look great!

  • The last dress…go hot mama go!!!! :)

I am seriously sucking in my two baby mama belly right now. Ha!

  • You are too cute! I love #3. So chic! Have fun…

  • The second one looks the best. Have fun!

  • The last dress. Opt for heels and not boots though. If you are going to wear boots for sure then I change my vote #2 it’s uber feminine. Either way you’re going to sparkle!

  • Hmm. Do you have tan suede or chocolate brown stiletto boots? I would do either with the brown strapless dress, a cream shawl and some fab beads. Hair up. If you wanted to go with the black strapless, depending on how “evening” the wedding is, I’d do black stiletto boots or patent stiletto heels, black wrap and a strand of pears and pearl studs with your hair down.

Okay – stylist mode off, mommy mode back on. My girls need baths! Good luck!

  • Haha – last sentence, a strand of PEARLS obvs and not a strand of PEARS! (so much for proofreading!)

  • I think you look beautiful in all of them…but that’s me!

  • I’m going with dress #3. You might want to ditch the hat! :)

  • Audrey… I LOVE all the dresses! But if I must pick, it would be the strapless in brown. Brown is such an unexpected formal color, and with high, high heels and your beautiful legs… va-voom! You also have gorgeous arms and shoulders (from all your swimming years, I’m sure!)… so show them off! I agree with others that really dramatic jewelry would be the finishing touch. Your boys (including Matt) will be mesmerized by Mommy! Go for it, and have a fabulous time!
    Love, Mom
ps you may not want to wear the Boston hat in Pittsburgh…

  • Dress # 3 but not with boots! You’ll look gorgeous whatever you decide on, you can’t even tell you just had a baby.

  • Audry – All three dresses are awesome… as long as you wear the Red Sox hat, you’ll be fine. :-) Say hello to Matt and the kids… have fun.

  • So, I say…

Night wedding? Go with dress #3 in black with some awesome jewelry. I think you should go with heels though, because you should rock those awesome gams girlie!

Afternoon or day wedding? I’d go with #2. It’s super feminine and classy.

They are all fantastic, you have great taste and you’d look great in a paper bag! I’m jealous that you can even wear strapless dresses after 4 kids!

  • Whoops. I didn’t read the other comments first. After reading what your mom said I have to say that I agree. Do the brown instead of the black – it would be unexpected but stunning!

  • The pink one is really pretty but not to much.

  • I like dress #3, in either black or brown. It is a little hard to pick one with the accessory on your head right NOW, but I agree with all the other ladies. No boots. Maybe a nice metallic pair? Or something with a little bit of color? Or will you do some color in a necklace to make it POP?

I know you will take our advice into consideration, but you will totally pick the one that you are the most comfortable in. You know what you like the best.

  • You can’t go wrong with blk strapless. NO BOOTS THOUGH! Sexy blk heels and a really chunky statement necklace which is one of Fall’s top 10 trends! Fun clutch too! Have fun!

  • Is just boots an option?

You look beautiful in all three but I like #2 the best. Maybe I’ll wear a pink tie!

  • Audrey – I really like that last strapless one – I’m sure it looks good with the spanx- however – will that be comfortable enough? If so – the chocolate brown with with cool shoes…

  • Chocolate Brown Donna Karan…hands down!!!!!!!

  • I am loving dress #3! It gives you some sexy, sexy curves. I vote for brown with heels! Can’t wait to see the final pick.

  • What fun…OK, #3 is my top choice but I would wear with pumps for sure – preferably pointy “witch” ones as my kids call it! You’ll look beautiful in any of them though!!

  • I don’t need any Play-Doh — but I vote for dress #3 — black is very big in the ‘Burgh, and you look great in it. Very un-preggers!

  • Ok, first, I’m not a woman/girl/lady, so I’m a bit out of my element here. But since you likely know by now, I’m not shy.

I agree with Matt, first of all! Boots, blah!

Secondly, I have to say that while the pink dress is beautiful and delicate and very very nice, I think personally, #3 was the most flattering as well as versatile. Holy cow, maybe I should go into fashion blogging… sorry, I digress.

You could wear it with HEELS (omg NO BOOTS LORD) .. and you could go with gold, silver/platinum, or gems for color. It’ll also show off all the hard work you’ve done on the tweightloss challenge.

    My vote #3 …

  • I think #2 is the prettiest of all. I love the color on you. I would definitely go with that option. I think the embroidery in the middle is very classic looking.

  • OK. I think I’m one of the only people voting for dress #1, but I love it! I think it is very chic and very hip. I would go for that one! The others are nice, but for me – #1 stands out the best!

  • Hi Audrey!
YOU LOOK AMAZING for all those kiddos!! I think you will hit it out of the park with Dress #3 in black. The cut is classic, and when you said it was brushed cashmere, I wanted to jump through the screen and try it on. Uber classy. If you have georgous high heeled super sleek boots, could be a knock-out! If not, stick to anything with a heel that’s in an unexpected pop of color. What time is the wedding? Evening?! You’ll flippin’ rock this dress. I still can’t believe how you look. So toned! No flabby arms! You are gonna leave everyone breathless.

  • #3 hands down. Love it.

  • Audrey,
I love #3. I would do the chocolate brown. I don’t mean to sound like everyone else, but I think it is the most gorgeous dress. I definitely would take that option. And definitely go with heels! It’s not winter yet! And a chunky necklace, it will be perfect. Good luck!

  • Dress 3…NO BOOTS!!! You look great in it. Can’t believe you have had 4 boys in 4 years. Never woulda guessed it!

  • ohh that’s a tough one…
I think I’d go with the black or chocolate brown strapless.

    In brown though…

You’ll look fabulous no matter what though!

Are you bringing your best accessory? Your little men?!
