A few years ago I was in the Borders bookstore at the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle in NYC. (Got that?) Well, it was me, my mom, Audrey – and a bunch of screaming women.

They weren’t screaming for us, of course, but they were clearly there to see someone or something exciting. We asked one of the women what they were all there to see. She looked at us with a shocked expression, like, “How could you not know!? Then she squealed, “Il Divo!”

Truth be told, at that time I didn’t know much about them. But when we saw the operatic quartet come out and greet their fans that day, and sing for them, it was clear that they were here to stay (the fact that they are just a little nice to look at probably doesn’t hurt their case!).

I was lucky enough to get to listen to Il Divo’s new CD, The Promise, which is just incredible. These four men have simply amazing voices, and together they make hauntingly beautiful music.
