Hurricane Bill and a Saturday afternoon
Hurricane Bill traveling up the east coast on an August Saturday afternoon. And a couple of old people.
Whaddya get? Old-fashioned fun.
Barry and I took a ride to Narragansett this afternoon to check out the wind and the giant waves. When we got there, we decided to change into our bathing suits and join the body-surfing fun. We felt like a couple of kids…

The waves were so intense that we didn’t know which end was up, and once we caught a perfect wave, it took our bodies on unforgettable rides right onto the shore. We surfed wave after wave until the surf became so dangerous that the beach was closed. And our bathing suits were like sandbags! Ah… but we had a blast while it lasted.

Good for you for having some fun. We’re still on clean up here. Not much fun!
Hmm. All our beaches are closed “due to Hurricane Bill”.
That looks like so much fun!! We’re missing out on beach weather because it’s been so miserable and rainy here.
You ARE a couple of kids!
Jacob is amazing at body surfing, like a fish, he catches every wave.
I, on the other hand, cannot catch them! I’ve always envied body surfers. I wonder if it’s too much boob-age? I’ll stick with that story.
Fantastic way to spend an afternoon. Brings back memories of my parents who loved the ocean so much–they would still be “body surfing” today if they were here!
I love the photos!!!
Good for you both! You are living life to it’s fullest. I would have loved to ride those waves and say hi to Bill. Great pictures.
