September is National Fall Hat Month

September is National Fall Hat Month.  (I’m not kidding.)

I just found this little fun-fashion-tidbit out the other night as I was browsing for some great Fall hats.  I have to say, at first… I thought it was a joke.  Then as I kept googling it — it became apparent, that September really does hold the National Fall Hat Month title.  Pretty cool, huh?

It makes sense.  I always get so excited about adding in some great Fall accessories.  Scarves.  Mittens and gloves.  And HATS!  I love seeing each season what different styles and colors are on-trend right now.  For me, every year I love to purchase a chunky knit hat.  I love them.  In my “hat arsenal” I must have about 6 of them… beige, navy, gray, black, red and white.  There’s something about a chunky knit hat that screams FALL.  In New England the leaves start changing colors, the wind picks up, apple and pumpkin orchards open up… there’s just this “sense” to the season that makes you crave (and need) warm, cozy items.  The chunky hat has always been my go-to cozy item of choice.

But this season… oh, my!  There are so many different styles that are chic and trendy and just amazing fashion statements within themselves.

The hot Fall 2009 hats right now:

The best part about hats is that anyone can wear one.  I love being able to blog about fashion trends that have nothing to do with size and height and shape.  And believe me, I’m sure we all know what kind of hat we “look better” in. Truthfully, I look like a fool (really, I do) in a Fedora… but, I feel very comfortable in a Conductor hat.  That’s the beauty… there are options to choose from and they are GOOD options.

So embrace September’s National Fall Hat month with a new hat.  Bring on Fall… and pop on a hat.
