AH-HA! Red Chair Confessions was referring to a shopaholic’s tendencies… I love it! (Honey, you owe me dinner.) Talbots, you’re a genius with that ad campaign! Loved loved loved it. Fashion and style and shopping through this young woman’s eyes in a confessional, perfection — and very memorable.
You know, when it comes to fashion and style I’m always asked to describe my style. It’s simple – classically trendy. I love nothing more than building an outfit with classic, modern pieces and “trending” it up a bit with accessories, shoes or one special item of clothing. It’s always how I’ve been when it comes to my own personal fashion and style. When I find some perfect pieces to add into my wardrobe, it’s fun and exciting to me. Clothes shopping is always a new adventure for me, especially now that my “baby weight” is gone this Fall. Last year I had just had my 4th son, after back to back to back to back pregnancies, and it’s beyond fun walking into a store and finding some clothing that I know will last more than 3 months at a time!
I wouldn’t classify myself as a true shopaholic. Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping and it’s honestly one of my favorite things to do, but I make sure I’m buying items that will absolutely get use. And I will confess to buying too many shoes and cashmere sweaters, and hiding/shredding/throwing away receipts once-in-awhile so my husband won’t know how much I spent. (Sorry, honey!) But one thing I believe (or at least how I personally justify) is that a good pair of shoes and cashmere will last a long time and always be in style. Again, classic pieces… you can have them forever and change the look by accessorizing from season to season.
I went to Talbots this past weekend to look specifically for some button-down blouses. If there’s one item of clothing I just don’t have enough of, it’s blouses. Blouses are so “in” right now… and the look can be changed so easily by adding a vest, a scarf, a necklace, tying the front, buttoning it all the way up or leaving a few buttons unbuttoned with a camisole underneath. One of my favorite ways to wear a blouse is under a crewneck or v-neck sweater. Pop the collar out and push up the sleeves of your sweater so the blouse is exposed and you’re ready to go! I tried on about 10 different blouses. I settled on one deep v-neck blouse with exposed buttons and a stretch fit.

It seriously fit like a glove. I loved it! It’s one of those items that when you try on, you know you need to have it. Talbots had the same blouse in peach and brown, both of which I ordered (they didn’t have my size on hand, and they offer this great perk of ordering for you from the catalog/website and it’s free shipping to the store!). And then I couldn’t resist the gorgeous silk tanks with pleating on the front collar.
They are the perfect tanks/shells to wear under blazers and sweater wraps, and the colors – red, periwinkle, peach, black and cream – were beautiful. Luxurious to touch and just impeccable on. Love them. If you need some shells for underneath staple pieces this Fall, look no further.
I love the clothing at Talbots because the fit is simple, classic and modern. You can wear these clothes from day into night. They are designed for a modern woman on-the-go. She works. She mothers. She shops. She plays. And she lives. Her energy is endless, and Talbots clothing speaks to this woman. I have really never utilized Talbots the way I should… because I was so impressed by the selections and varieties of colors and styles and designs. I will absolutely be back for more, maybe for that fabulous black cape I had my eye on.
Here was my oh-so-fun, child-free SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!

I really like the pleat-neck, scoop-neck tee. It’s so cute and looks like it would be comfy! What a great giveaway! I saw it on Metropolitan Mama’s blog. I’m bookmarking your blog and will definitely come back!
Just have to have a pair of tweed trousers in the closet for the winter. Just found your site today and love the layout and your writing style. Very easy to read and enjoyable! Right now I only read metropolitan mama but I will definitely come back to your site!
My favorite pieces are the ruffled cardigan and the wrap blouse.

My favorite Talbots item is a pleated skirt I got there last summer. It’s cream and has a royal blue and black design that reminds me of blue onion pattern.
The Buckled Cardigan is my absolute favorite! I love it in both Valley Green and Red Berry. Can’t wait for the cold weather to reach it down here in Florida =)
Red blazer without the buttons.
Oh, I LOVE Talbot’s. It’s where I go when I want to truly treat myself which isn’t often enough. I love their rose print cardigan which is simple and feminine too.
Mama needs a new Peacoat (mine was 2 sizes too big before I started losing weight). But I might switch it up and get the Hooded Toggle Coat.
I LOVE almost ALL of their TALL pants! I’m 6’0 and have too much trouble finding ones long enought.
I am absolutely loving the Mock wrap dress in Magic (a deep deep purple). Absolutely gorgeous color and I think perfect for winter!

I’m loving the paisley cardigan. Too cute!
The grey tweed A-line skirt is such a nice classic look.
I love how you took all of those photos in the dressing room. You are so pretty (and physically fit too). Those silk shells look particularly good on you.
If I won, I would have a hard time choosing what to buy because Talbots has so many fashionable pieces. I bet I’d end up opting for a Cashmere cardigan sweater. You can’t go wrong with cashmere, right?
Oh my they have such cute clothes but my favorite is the Blouson-sleeve cardigan – http://www1.talbots.com/online/browse/product_details.jsp?id=prdi23159&rootCategory=cat70012&catId=cat80002&sortKey=Default§ion=Regular&conceptIdUnderSale=
