Diamonds are a girl's best friend. *GIVEAWAY!*

How many times do you actually see diamonds being given away? Well, today ladies (and ahem… gentlemen!) DIAMONDS ARE ON THE MENU!

As I’ve mentioned before on Mom Generations… I have just launched a new daily video style series with Lesley of FashionTribes.com called Daily Dose of Style – http://dailydoseofstyle.com/. We’re bringing together different verticals that normally don’t cross – which is silly because lots of moms want to be stylish, and many fashionistas need (and want) to be practical. It’s the perfect union.

So back to the diamonds and the giveaway!

Sam’s Club has provided Daily Dose of Style with some stunning diamond items to give away. Yes, I did pluralize “items.” This will be the first diamond giveaway… the second giveaway of a few items (retail value $2000) will be LIVE during our Daily Dose of Style Twitter party on Thursday, November 19th at 9PM EST.

Diamonds aren’t easy to purchase. You really must go into the purchase with some knowledge of what you want and what you’re looking for… kind of like some Jewelry 101 Shopping Tips:
· Know your personal style. Know your price points. And know the feeling you hope (and want) to convey with your diamond selection.
· If that special someone is a true original, look for jewelry with an innovative, even bohemian feel, such as bangles or vintage earrings or something from Sam’s Club eco-friendly Love Earth™ collection.
· Keep in mind: The majority of Sam’s Club engagement and diamond studs are certified by an independent party – whether you spend $2,000 or $200,000.

We thought it would be fun to get the action going with a diamond giveaway 2 weeks in advance of our Twitter Party… why not, right!? Give yourself a little bling… a little frost… a little something-something! Diamonds are all about creating a memory, so we want to do that for you before the holidays.

Fine jewelry and diamonds are still a girl’s best friend and a particularly smart purchase because they retain their value,” says Sharon Van Roo, Merchandise Director of Sam’s Club. “Whether you are shopping for an engagement ring or a special statement piece, Sam’s Club makes it simple and can design custom looks or offer loose stones to meet individual preferences. Sam’s Club also offers the same high quality from the leading suppliers and designers for less than department or jewelry stores. That means you get more, and when it comes to diamonds, size matters!”

Feast your eyes on these gorgeous. Hoop Earrings. Retail value: $999.00 YES! $999.00!!

  • Since I lost my wedding ring set about three years ago, I’m naturally drawn to the bridal bands. The 3.74 ct t.w. Diamond Band with 54 diamonds (marquise, baguette & round) would be perfect for someone like me who doesn’t make decisions easily. :) But I’m more of a simple girl. I’d settle on the 1.5 ct t.w. 5-Stone Diamond Band in the Anniversary Collection. It’s beautiful.

  • My wife would absolutely love the .23 ct. t.w. Round-Cut Diamond Earrings (I, SI2! It’s our 10th anniversary this year and I wanted to do something special for her but due to economy I have recently lost my job and will be unable to take her for our second honeymoon as planned. These would defiantly make her feel special, not nearly as special as she is to me but certainly a close second. :)

    Thanks for the chance!

  • I love the Everlon .75 carat Diamond knot ring! it’s such a gorgeous design, and so unique! It’s like tying a string around your finger so you don’t forget, but in this case it’s a classy diamond reminding you of your boyfriend/husband! It’s such a great idea! I know what I’m asking for on Christmas! :D

  • 0.50 ct. t.w. Everlon™ 3-Stone Diamond Ring is my love, my heart, my fave by all means! First off the design is freaking unreal! I have never seen something so simple, be so beautiful as well. When you look at the ring you can see that is very classy! You can dress it up or down. I know this is the type of ring I have wanted for a while. I never knew till now. For it reminds me of everything that I need to keep going like the ring does the circle, be strong like the dimonds, and rememeber that my love and my husbands love will last a life time. I know this would be a great ring for that! Or and by the way those earing rocks my socks!

  • I’m dreaming of this as a gift this year! 0.50 ct. Everlon™ Diamond Solitaire Pendant

  • Bears, fish, and ballet slippers! I love the collection at Sam’s Club. I can’t believe how cute! First, they have the “teddy bear” look with their 14K gold Everlon Diamodn knot earrings. Is it just me or are they not the cutest things?! Warm and cozy and just screaming love! Then, the fish: the Diamond Journey Vine earrings. They have such character & make a statement, while saying so little. There’s depth and substance and just the right shape. Love ‘em. And lastly, my ultimate faves (!), the ballet slippers: these are the Everlon Diamond Knot earrings in pink gold. What a beautiful treasure! Elegant, sophisticated, cute, girly, and divine! All at once! Who could ask for anything more! They’ll go with ANY outfit!

  • I would love the 0.50 ct. Everlon™ Diamond Solitaire Pendant!!!

  • I work a lot with amber which is the opposite of diamonds in a lot of ways- softest gem vs. hardest, in amber, inclusions are a plus whereas in a diamond, thought to be a liability. So I’m always intrigued by diamonds.

“Most diamonds are found in volcanic rock, called Kimberlite, or in the sea after having been carried away by rivers when they were pushed to the surface.” (link: http://didyouknow.org/diamonds.htm)

Interesting to think of diamonds carried away by rivers to out into the ocean, just the way amber was washed into the sea in ancient times. Whenever I think of diamonds I usually think of Earth (soil, mining, how they are embedded), not really water. Neat.

Sam’s Club certainly seems to have the best pricing around on diamonds!

I definitely like the 0.50 ct. t.w. Everlon™ 3-Stone Diamond Ring as a right hand ring- because it occupies an interesting design space- it’s feminine, but bold- Curvy, substantial yet sleek & not over the top.

And I really love the .80 ct. t.w. Love Always Diamond Ring, the way the diamond V embellishes the stone setting is unique & lends such depth & interest to the stone- creates a dazzling & unexpected surprise, very personal somehow.

If money were no object I’d certainly take the 2.95 ct. t.w. Three-Stone Diamond Ring (I, I1) for a spin- just for the sheer commanding elegance of it.

The .46 ct. t.w. Diamond Cluster Earrings (I, VS2) are a wardrobe workhorse too, putting a bit of sparkle at the ear helps to draw attention & focus to your eyes- always seems to me to make the whites just a little brigher, and also perks up your appearance if you look (or feel) tired. This is a good standby style to have on-hand for many social occassions- no muss, no fuss.

  • I left a comment over at Leslie’s about the Everlon collection. OMG just lovely- dreaming, but I have never owned such nice things and it’s kind of odd to even browse them. I guess, even odder since diamond is my birthstone. I have a small pair of diamond earrings, and of course my wedding ring, but I have always always wanted a diamond bracelet. If money were no object, and a girl could dream as big as she wanted, I would go for the 10C diamond tennis bracelet. It would be so huge, no one would think it was real, and oh, how it would shine. I would spend hours just making diamond rainbows across the walls every chance I got. OK, so thats a dream, but, you asked :)

  • Oooh…I’m lovin’ this Everlon collection!
The 1.5 carat ring would be my selection!
It’s shiny pave’ would show me the way
through the night and it’s light might stir up some fights on first sight.
But I would hold it tight and close to me,
like a mother to her cub,
because it costs 4 G’s shopping at Sam’s Club.

  • In the spirit of the Daily Dose of Style holiday outfits, I chose 3 diamond jewelry items that I love. The first is a 24 karat yellow and gold diamond bracelet. This price of this item is well above the prizes to be given away, but a girl can dream. When I found this yellow and white diamond bracelet, all I could think about is how great it would look with some of the cream or champagne-colored holiday dresses I keep seeing. The other thing I thought about was the old school gold nugget jewelry that some people used to wear. This placement of the diamonds reminds me of that jewelry, except this is actually desirable.

The second piece I found is a rose gold and diamond bangle. Naturally, I love rose gold because pink is my favorite color, the name of my business is Pink Oyster Designs, and I have a rose gold wedding set. For people who try to wear the color of gold that compliments their skin tone, I think rose gold is perfect. It is both warm and cool at once.

The third item is chose is the Evelon diamond rope ring in rose gold. This ring has enough detail to make it interesting while maintaining the simplicity of an everyday piece of jewelry. In a way, it has the same spirit as a cape cod bracelet.

Honestly, I love bracelets and rings because I can admire them while I am wearing them unlike earrings and many necklaces. Plus, I like to wear multiple bracelets so I can hear the clinking sound they make when they touch.

  • I just flippin’ adore the 1 ct. t.w. Round-Cut Diamond Earrings! They are so uber fantastic!!! I would look every so lovely and fancified if I had some pretty pretty diamonds to make my ears so sparkley and they could help light up my face with a warm glowing reflection of candle light! (The candle light comes in to the picture because of course if I have sexy diamond earrings I have to have dim lights with heaps of glowing candles!!!) and they would give me a reason to have to buy new clothes to go with my new fancy ears! WOOHOOO! Shopping for me! what a bonus effect of winning diamonds! Win-win for sure!
YAY ME!….no I just have to win…;) xoxo

  • I’m here for the daily dose of style/ Sam’s club earrings contest. I like the .20 ct. t.w. Black & White Diamond Pendant (item #721510). Those butterflies can make anyone look really fly. Children, teens, grandmas – anyone can rock it. I like Sam’s Club in general for their fine selection of bling. After dropping some bills there you’ll have so much ice you could skate on it. • Choosing just one piece is very nearly impossible. I’ve changed my mind half a dozen times already but the Black and White Diamond Ring would make my ordinary hands look gorgeous. Now if I could just add one or two more, maybe the Rhodolite, White & Chocolate Diamond™ Ring or the Chocolate Pearl™ & Chocolate Diamonds™ Ring I would really be styling.

  • The Tanzanite, White & Chocolate Diamond Ring caught my eye. I am thinking that my husband is going to have to see this one! After all, if he really loves me…. ;) I had no idea that Sam’s Club carried jewelry like this.
