Love the corkboard idea but don’t have the wall space. Since I’m a jewelry rep (and I wear all my jewelry), I keep mine in black plastic trays with velvet liners that I purchased at GemsOnDisplay.com. 1″ deep trays are about $1.59 and a velvet liner is about $1.50. Thing I love about these (I stack on two shelves in my closet) is that you can store 2-3 complete looks in each tray – earrings (when you pierce yours!), necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

Brilliant! I have bought the actual retail display units for all my jewelry- I use my towel racks as necklace holders…but this is the best idea by far! Thank you so much for sharing this!!

I can’t believe you don’t wear earrings, they’re like my favorite go-to piece of jewelry! That being said, I adore necklaces and am going to figure out a way to incorporate something like that bulletin board in my closet when we re-do it.

Check out this mirror / jewelry armoire my husband gave me for X-mas. It has been perfect! I wish it was a little *prettier/stylish*, but it’s fine because it’s in my closet.

I can’t believe you don’t have your ears pierced… I don’t either! Well, actually… I DID, but I think they’ve grown over. The last time I wore earings was my wedding day 9 years ago.

I love this idea… it might even be reason enough for me to buy more necklaces. LOL.

Actually, just last year I finally realized how fun necklaces are and I’ve finally started buying them. But even with only a few, I get them tangled.

So 2010 will be the year I buy/wear more necklaces and get them organized.

I was just untangling necklaces this morning. My 6 yr old son watched in amazement at my futile effort and said, “Mommy, I don’t think you’re keeping those right. They aren’t supposed to be tangled.” Love this idea!
