Remembering Dimitri Gavriel today…
5 years ago my husband got a call that shook his life forever… his best friend from Brown – Dimitri Gavriel, who had joined the Marines at the age of 29 – had been killed in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Our William was 3 months old at the time… I look at him today, this 5-year old boy, and I can’t believe that’s it’s been 5 years since Dimi passed away. My husband never had a brother… until he had met Dimi.
Today… we’re thinking of Dimi. Missing his laugh, his jokes, his smile and his friendship.
