Adding Layers from Day-to-Night

This past Saturday I had 3 events I needed to be at, all within a tight time frame.  I knew I wouldn’t have time to change between each event, so I decided to change the look of each outfit by adding layers and changing my shoes as the day went on.  These events were 3 completely different things, so I couldn’t wear the same thing to all of them.  I had my my sons’ backyard birthday party in the early afternoon, a semi-casual political event in the early evening and a fun girls night out at night.  I couldn’t wear the same thing to all of them.  Layering up is a great way to save time and money.

This is how you can layer up from day-into-night…

TOTALLY CASUAL... Jeans, Black Crewneck, Green Scarf and UGGs

SEMI-CASUAL... Add Blazer and Heels

Girls Night Out... Add Bangles, Cardigan Shawl and Slouchy Boots

So easy to do. Start with key, easy pieces and just layer over them. I was comfortable all day and all night (even while watching Josh Duhamel!).

Thanks for this post Audrey – I’m the worst when it comes to figuring out what to wear, especially when I have to pack light for a trip. I like all of those outfits and they are good colors for me too ;-)
