Tax Season: Yeah, you need a Staples Minimate Cross-Cut Shredded (GIVEAWAY)

It’s tax season, everyone’s favorite time of the year, you know, when winter is kind of over but spring is not quite here. When one day it’s 60 and the next it’s 17, but it seems like every day has a little bit of freezing rain. I guess it only makes sense to do taxes during this already difficult time of year!

As a self-employed mother of four, I have TONS of mail coming every day. The 1099’s have finally stopped, but there’s still the bills and junk mail to brighten my day! At around 3:30 every afternoon the sound of my Staples Minimate Cross-Cut Shredder can be heard outside my office. The mail comes by 3:00 and I don’t like to let it sit around for very long. EVERYTHING that has my name or address on it gets shredded. I don’t want to take a chance that someone might decide to dig through my trash and steal my information, especially this time of year when many important documents also have my Social Security Number.

I LOVE the Staples Minimate Cross-Cut Shredder because it’s small and portable.

I have enough stuff on my desk and don’t need to add a big bulky shredder. I actually stash it in the cabinet when I’m done so I don’t even have to use any desk space. I can also take it into the kitchen or living room if I’m sick of the office.

It’s also versatile for it’s size. It can handle up to 6 sheets of paper at a time which is perfect for junk mail, and documents I need shredded. Yes, a couple times I’ve wished I could just shred my entire 1040, but that’s not going to make it go away! It also shreds CDs, DVDs, paperclips and credit cards (which I should probably do!)

The BEST thing about it though is the way you empty it. You pick it up (remember it’s portable!), walk over to the trash press a button and the bottom opens up. That means none of those squiggly white paper strips that live all over the floor around other shredders.
