Each TOY or GAME has a STORY to share with kids.

Today, it’s SIDEWALK CHALK’s turn to tell its story (with a little help from Grandma Sharon)…

A box of Sidewalk Chalk

WHAT is SIDEWALK CHALK Sidewalk Chalk sticks are larger sticks than blackboard chalk, made of colored calcium sulfate or gypsum.

WHO invented SIDEWALK CHALK:  Many people believe that Sidewalk Chalk was “invented” by children’s author Sharon McKay and her husband David in 1993 with the publication of Sharon’s book Chalk Around the Block.

WHY is SIDEWALK CHALK so awesome:  See for yourself…

The colors...

The love stories...

The Hop Scotch...

And the incredible creativity.

Get your kids & grandkids in on the creativity found at Sidewalk Chalk Festivals all around the world… or simply use Sidewalk Chalk for entertainment in your own driveway or walkway.

Join me here each day in JULY for TOY STORIES on 365 Days of Literacy for Kids.  A little fun, a little learning and a little “ta-dah!”
