Even though I’m a blogger… I’m one of those people who absolutely, positively LOVES to send handwritten notes. There’s just something so personal and beautiful and special about sitting down with a pen and a handpicked card and writing a beautiful message to someone… it means something. Truly means something.

When I was a freshman in college, I decorated my dorm room with all the cards that people sent me. It was cool to “surround” myself with my family and friends… even if it was just a hanging on the wall. I knew they took the time to find the perfect card and then the time to write something (and then mail it!), so it meant the world to me. Many of those cards were from my sister-in-law, Nicole. I’ll never forget how she always took the time to write me messages and even (which was beyond appreciated) pop in some money for me. It makes me smile to think back… but what I always used to love about Nicole’s cards was that she would always write beautiful messages inside them for me. They were things I needed to hear and words I cherished.

So… it never once surprised me when she decided to go ahead and start her own card company with my brother called Inspired By It. Nicole has been inspiring for a very long time, so it was time for her to spread her wings and inspire more than just her family and friends… and I couldn’t have been more excited and proud for her!

Inspired By It… their goal is simple: they wanted to make a line of cards that would make a difference in someone’s life.

I love these cards as gifts, but I also LOVE to have them on-hand for myself. These have been my go-to cards for birthdays and anniversaries and everything else I need to send to someone special in my life.

As 2012 is about to start… make a resolution to send a card to someone special in your life once a week. It’s a simple gesture that goes such a long way.
