2. Knowing what to wear with it.

C-sections are MUCH different than vaginal deliveries… on all accounts.  The biggest difference for me was recovery.  With my 3 oldest sons, I was back up in action pretty quickly… with my c-section, I was “out” for a good 2-3 weeks.  It took a little getting used to… especially when 5 “men” at home are depending on you.

So… I’m sure you’re wondering – how are c-sections at all fashionable?

I lived… I mean LIVED in my Czela Bellies for 6 weeks.  I loved that I could wear the waistband high or low… it all depended on my comfort level.  Your incision does start to heal pretty quickly… so the most important thing is to keep it healing properly.  My Czela’s were the most comfortable undergarments in the world.  I cannot say enough about them!  If you’re pregnant and know you’re having a c-section baby (or know someone who is!)… get yourself (or them!) some Czela Bellies!  If you have a surprise c-section… order some immediately!

Are you kidding?

You can imagine my shock and horror as I saw this article in the May issue of Glamour. Considering my sons get buzz cuts every summer… I highly doubt Mommy (me) will be joining them. Fashion DO or not. Half-shaved heads? Gulp. Swallow. Gasp. And you have Scary Spice actually matching one with her daughter? Oh, my… there are NO WORDS.

Spring accessories are all about making statements. Bold and colorful jewelry. Chunky bracelets, rings and necklaces. Turquoise pieces. And… Bib Necklaces. Bib Necklaces are exactly what they sound like… they look like bibs.

Dramatic? Yes. Making a bold accessory statement? Double yes.

But truly – is it a Fashion Do or a Fashion Don’t for you? The difficulty with Bib Necklaces are that they are exactly the kind of “trendy” item that comes in… and then (next season) goes out. Not to mention, if your endowed on top… the necklace could get lost or just “pop” out way too far.

Now… in fairness, there are many different style Bib Necklaces. Some are not as big as the one I displayed above. And they most definitely rocked the runway in September (unveiling Spring 2010′s fashion trends).

This is definitely one of those Spring Trends that if you’re feeling it – go for it. If you’re not… RUN FAST!

So my FASHION DO for the day?

Striped Scarves.

I saw one woman at the train station this afternoon wearing a navy/white striped scarf… I couldn’t help but ask her where she bought it – Lands’ End – Canvas line.

I need to sit down and put my thoughts to paper (or screen) about the weekend… I do have a post in me, I just think the weekend dazzled me so much, I need time to digest it all.

But… drum roll please – the one thing I can and have to speak on about the conference were the FASHIONS. Moms did not disappoint! The fashions and styles were awesome! Um… we know how to kick a little fashion butt! Moms know how to dress… that’s for sure.

BELTS:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Belts are the way-to-go! I love belts… they really can create such fun and different looks for outfits. Here were 2 different belts done beautifully…

Leah rocking the brown belt with a black dress… stunning! I have always loved the combination of these colors!

Rachel chicly sporting the chain-link belt… I love this laid-back (yet ultra-trendy) look over her jeans!

SCARVES:

Ms. Alli Worthington ROCKED the scarf this past weekend. She looked fabulous… and I love love love this dash of red (not to mention those kickin boots!) with this outfit. It’s always fun to add a dash of fun/bright/bold colors!

PURPLE:

This has been the “it” color of fall/winter. Purple looks beautiful on women… it’s classic and soft and perfect all at the same time. One of my favorite things about the color purple is that the various shades and hues are just stunning. Look at how gorgeous these three lovely ladies – Jodi, Jo-Lynne and Mel – look!

POLKA DOTS:

Polka dots are HUGE right now! When I saw Katie (quite literally) commanding this beauty of a dress, I stopped in my tracks. I have always been one to love a little “something-something” on my clothing, and polka dots are just that perfect touch!

MONOCHROMATIC, PERFECT COLOR, CARDIGAN SHAWL and ACCESSORIES:

OK… there is so much fabulousness going on in this photo, I couldn’t help but include it! From left to right… we’ve got the dazzling Kimba in MONOCHROMATIC style, Laurie in that gorgeous green top, Marie rocking the Cardigan Shawl Wrap and Allison looking stunning in her chic skirt and blouse with fabulous red belt (and necklace!).

FABULOUSNESS:

I met Robin last year at SXSW when we were roomies. From the second I met her, I could tell she was gracious and kind and sweet… and hilariously funny! She’s got a good heart. A genuine heart. We’ve chatted fashion before in person and on Twitter…so I wanted to be able to share this beautiful photo of her from the night of the cocktail party at FUSE:

To say this dress was gorgeous is an understatement…

So… what are some SPRING FASHION TRENDS that will be “hot?” I love to find trends that will continue to be “hot” from season to season… let’s face it, it saves us from slaving to the malls and buying anything/everything new.

Oh, my… they can cause grown women to sweat! No… I’m kidding. Last week I posted about them – posing the question “Fashion Do or Fashion Don’t?”

I had WAY MORE Fashion DO responses than I ever imagined. Personally, I love Legwarmers. I think they’re cool. I think they’re retro. And I think you can definitely get away with wearing them so it doesn’t look like you’re heading to the gym… or on your way to rent “Flashdance.”
