A little 28-week miracle…

A beautiful blog friend of ours had a little Baby girl… born last Tuesday, November 11th… at 28 weeks.  Baby weighed 2 lbs. 3 oz. and measured in at 34 centimeters.  Baby is strong and vibrant and sassy and gorgeous… and Mommy will be staying with her for many, many weeks- months even… far, far away from her Hubby and their home on Manitoulin Island as Baby gets strong and big enough to make that wondrous 6-hour journey home.

It is almost impossible to imagine how we all feel so in love with a little girl we’ve never met… and feel such love for a Mommy we’ve never met but for the way she weaves her warmth and wisdom into each letter and syllable and word she writes.   Mommy’s warmth has drawn so many people to her blog over the years… she shares exquisite photographs, delectable recipes, her wit and her eloquence… and her very life on that perfect little island…

… and I’m thinking that so many of you out there have beautiful, eloquent, warm and wonderful words to share with Mommy as she leaps into motherhood.  God only knows that none of us tiptoe into this  adventure!  You will find Mommy and Baby here at Life On Manitoulin… I’m sure that in-between pumping the milk that just came in, leaving Baby in the NICU, checking in with doctors and nurses, missing Hubby and having just had a baby… she will be so very happy to read your perfect words…

It’s tough to have a new baby and be far from home and hubby. I pray that the baby gets strong quickly and they both can go home.
