Today's the DAY! (And Day #3 of Mom Fashion Advice)

Today is the DAY. As much as I don’t want it to be… it’s time.

The cleaning/cleansing/purging/organizing of my closets.

I’ve been avoiding this for – well… maybe 2 years. Using my pregnant status as a great excuse… but now, it’s time. I need to get the clothes in order.

I have way too many things. Some clothes still have tags on them. Some pants have been hemmed, but never worn. Some dresses were purchased at Sample Sales in NYC… expensive dresses that I got for VERY inexpensive prices… never touched. So it’s time.

I think the funniest/saddest part is that I have completely (I mean COMPLETELY) have taken over all the closets in William, Alexander, Benjamin and Henry’s bedrooms.

Don’t believe me…

One side of William and Alexander’s closet that I have taken over.

The other side.

Benjamin’s closet – yup… I have completely taken over.

The other side of “Benjamin’s” closet.

Henry’s closet – that I have (again) completely taken over.

The other side of “Henry’s” closet.

The one unit in MY own bedroom that I use for my clothes.

So as you can see… I have my work cut-out for me this weekend. But I need to do this. Maybe you’ll see some of my stuff on eBay!

Which brings me to my Mom Fashion Advice on Day #3 – Purge/Clean/Cleanse/Organize your closets. We all have shirts and pants and sweaters and blouses and blazers and sweats that we don’t use. It’s time to clear it out. It makes it easier to start fresh. And I will say – you won’t feel bad about adding more clothes to your closets once you get rid of stuff! So go on… use the weekend to organize. Even donate the clothes. I bring mine to the Big Sisters of Rhode Island.

Have a great weekend! You know where I will be!

That is quite the task ahead. I’ve done this in the past, it’s never easy. I hope it all goes well for you this weekend.

You will feel so cleansed when you’re done! You do have some lovely things, but if you’re not going to wear them… someone will!

OH man! I wish we lived close to each other, we could swap clothes-though then I guess that wouldn’t help with the purging process…I have taken over Ben’s closet with the excuse that our closet is small…..:) lol

This is something I desperately need to do. I have clothes in my daughter’s room, too. Poor thing. She’s 8 and doesn’t have a closet to herself. Never has. I’m going to pledge to get rid of a bag of stuff today. Good idea on the donation.
