My fridge… the mecca of my kitchen.

For my family, the refrigerator is the focal point of the kitchen. It seems like everything we eat and/or drink comes from the fridge. It’s the first stop in the morning – milk for the boys (and for my coffee). It’s the last stop at night – a quick glass of water or quick late-night bite to eat. It’s the center of everything. Always stocked. Always something in there for everyone. I love it.

My previous fridge was one that had the double door refrigerator on top and pull-out freezer on the bottom. It was our first big purchase when we moved in. Quickly, though, we began to regret the freezer pull-out bottom when the boys would constantly pull it out on their own. No matter how many times I told them not to do it, they did it. It was this “cool” (no pun intended) place to grab ice cubes. Oh, man… it would drive me crazy.

So when Frigidaire sent us the Frigidaire Gallery, I was very excited to see that the fridge/freezer were side-by-side.

My first perk! For us, being a family of 6, the extra space is what has been AMAZING to have. I’m kind of embarrassed to admit this, but we go through a gallon of milk a DAY. Yes, a day. We would literally be going to the market or convenient store every other day for a new one. We just didn’t have the room to stock up. With everything else in the fridge, we were lucky to fit 2 gallons. Its a different story with Frigidaire’s Gallery fridge. We can fit 4 gallons at a time. Easily. The extra space is saving us time in running out all the time for new milk, so that simple change alone has been huge for us.

Not to mention the SpaceWise Organization system. I know this sounds silly… but I don’t know what I did before. Well, I do know. I would just jam everything in, and pray it fit. Simply put, I knew there was more food/drinks in the fridge than there was space for, but I didn’t have a choice… my family is big and we need to have food and drinks on hand all the time. Eating out a few nights a week just isn’t an option for us right now. There are extra bins. There are actual food storage containers. There are rack extenders. It’s crazy how much convenience comes all wrapped up in the fridge. I love it. I actually am able to have enough room for my veggies, for the meat and for the cheeses. There’s room! Not to mention, the drawers are humidity-controlled, so food lasts longer. I feel like singing from the rooftops. Before I would “lose” stuff in the fridge because it was behind other things, and then when it was finally found… no good. I used to hate that. Not any more. The beauty is that everything has space. I feel like we moved into a new house and there’s no sharing of bedrooms or bathrooms; it’s that much of an apparent difference. Making my life so, so, so much easier.

I also have to say that I especially I love the water/ice built-in machine. I have been drinking tap water for the last 3 years that we’ve been here. But my new PureSource Ultra Water Filtration offers best-in-class water filtration. I have water right there, it’s fresh and it’s delicious! That’s my own special “mom perk.”

(My love…)

I’m loving everything… I really am. But the fridge. I needed the fridge to be great. I needed it to fulfill all my family’s needs. And I’ll tell you what, it’s getting an A+!
