The job interview. You’re worried enough about it… so let me take the “worry” away in the fashion-department.
I received an email from a reader who is going for an interview for a position in the IT Department of a University. She was wondering what she could (or should) wear to the interview.
Now we all know about the basic “suit.” But what about BEYOND the suit? Times are changing… the suit doesn’t have to be the go-to attire anymore. So what can you do?
Here are 5 different styles you could go with:
Khakis are a great way to go. They are classic and sophisticated. Pair with a blazer and blouse… a subtle necklace… and a comfortable pair of flats or heels.
Monochromatic style – always safe. I love the dash of color through accessories.
I love the elegance and beauty of a tweed or plaid skirt with a fabulous turtleneck. Pair with a scarf and high boots and you’re off!
Cardigan sweater set with a black skirt… simple, sweet and comfortable.

You are awesome!! Thank you so much for answering my question so quickly and for giving me some great ideas. Now I will have to dig through my closets and see what is hidden behind all the yoga clothes, my usual attire these days 😉 Will let you know how it goes!
Warmly,
Charlotte
Thanks so much! I always tire of the plain suit + boring button down but am afraid to experiement. Like the options 🙂
I love that black bag! What is it?
I’d like to look up the black bag too. Where is it from? I’m a new SAHM (is 18 months considered new?!) and I’m in a total rut. Please recommend staples for everyday. I knew how to dress for work but I’m clueless for cute casual. Sigh. Help!
Fabulous looks. I wish I had all those outfits even though I’m not going to an interview.
