Beauty Advice for HAIR: MOROCCANOIL

I’ve always had very thick and frizzy hair. Honestly, for as long as I can remember it’s been this way. I’m actually seeing 2 of my sons inherit this “thickness” in hair. Ever since I was a little girl in the summer, my hair (which has a natural frizz) gets as frizzy as can be. And when I say “as can be”… I don’t know how much frizzier it’s humanly possible to get it. Not much has changed (hair wise) in 30-something years. Which is why I had the Keratin Treatment done to my hair 6 weeks ago. (Which I love, love, love!)

One of the first rules of thumb when you have the Keratin Treatment is that you have to use special shampoo/conditioner. It has to be (MUST BE) sulfate-free.

This was all doable… but my biggest question was, “What kinds of products should I be using in my hair?” You know, after it’s washed and dried and flat ironed.

My hair stylist from La La Luxe Salon in Providence, RI (who also happens to be a close friend from childhood) told me I needed to use Moroccanoil. Every time I leave her salon my hair is always shiny and luxurious and smooth… you know how it is – you’re hair looks celebrity-worthy when you’re leaving the salon, but then you get home… you shower… you do “your own thing”… and then you’re back to looking “normal.” Her secret (besides being a pro at hair) is this Moroccanoil – the Glimmer Shine Spray.

So I bought it… it wasn’t cheap, it was $25 for a bottle, but I’m telling you – it’s WORTH IT! If you know a product is going to work, the money you’re investing is definitely being used for good!

I’ve actually been using it 2X… which isn’t in the directions, but I “kind of” made up my own. I use it after I get out of the shower on my wet hair. I spray it all over. Then I dry my hair. And then I spray it all over my dry hair. It gives a wonderful shine. It prevents any frizz (which isn’t much due to the Keratin). It actually enhances my highlights (which is awesome). And it protects against the elements.

I’ve been using it now for 6 weeks straight… and I love it. I’ve recommended it to my mom (who hasn’t had Keratin) and to my cousin (who had the Keratin done 3 weeks ago) and both love this stuff.

Plus… not that this is the biggest deal in the world, but it smells AMAZING!

I’ve read about this in a couple of fashion magazines and was tempted to purchase it. Does it make your hair greasy at all?
