Steelers Logic

Last night the Steelers played a little football.

In other words… my husband suited up, cooked a feast and got ready for GAME DAY! When I say he was counting down all day for 6:30PM… I’m not kidding. He was literally counting down ALL. DAY. (I’ll admit, it was very cute… a man and his football passion.)

My husband has his “Steeler” rituals. He wears the same clothes for game day, which I’ve gotten him to now wash between games! When I was pregnant with Benjamin he didn’t cut his hair or shave his beard until they won the SuperBowl… because, you know… his hair DOES have an impact on the game of football. And lets just say it’s no coincidence that Benjamin is named Benjamin.

I’ve gotten to know these things about my husband throughout our 13 years together, almost 10 married. And yes… I’ve loved to harass him a bit about my New England blood.

And now we have kids. 4 of them. And sons! These boys are just beginning to get into football, especially our oldest son William. He’s a Steelers fan, as much as he understands that we LIVE in New England and his mom is a New England girl… he doesn’t care. He has aligned forces with his Dad, which I get and I do love seeing.

Needless to say… there’s some Steelers Logic in my house that I find amusing, yet I respect (because I don’t want to be faulted for a Steelers loss).

Case in point…

– The Steelers started to do good from the very beginning when William started swinging his Terrible Towel (while playing a football game on his NintendoDS). Therefore, William needed to keep swinging.

I VERY excited the Steelers won last night. I’m not a huge football chick, but I’m happy for my husband!

This was William a little after the Steelers won…

Looks like the Steelers are going to the SuperBowl! Here… we… go… !
