Week 12: Last week for my Lifetime Clean Start Challenge

This is a VERY bittersweet post… my Lifetime Clean Start Challenge ends this week.

The last 12 weeks have been incredible.  What’s been so incredible about these weeks  is that they have been leading up to my final challenge – Creating a Reading Garden and a Library at my sons’ preschool.

To say I was excited for the Reading Day (as I was referring to it at the preschool) is an understatement.  I couldn’t WAIT!  My two sons – Alex and Ben – knew that I was coming in for the day, but they didn’t know what was going to take place.

The ONE glitch of the whole challenge – due to the weather, we weren’t able to Create the Reading Garden. BUT! We have all the plans in action to make it happen and will be doing our community outreach and have it done this June for Family Day at the school.  Everyone in the community was so excited about the creation of this Garden, and so… seeing the enthusiasm to still make it happen, even after this challenge, has left me speechless.

But our day!  It was amazing! The kids had a fun-filled morning of Reading and singing and talking about why reading is so important.

Here are some photos of the day…

My husband helping me prepare! So many balloons to get ready!
Our theme of the day: The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Filming... the kids didn't even notice!
Talking with the kids about READING

And… DRUM ROLL PLEASE… my final video is DONE! Check it out HERE!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE… last week to vote as I try and raise $10K for First Book!

    Audrey,

I tried to vote for you today (official rules state the contest is open until 11:59 p.m. ET) but nothing is letting me. Sorry, or you would have had a few more votes. Any reason you know of why it thwarted me tonight?

Enjoyed your series so much – have all my family in New England and loved knowing Rhode Island was being featured. I’m a Vermonter (living in Pittsburgh, PA for 30 years but hope to come back sometime to settle forever). First Book = great cause. Thank you for your efforts over the last few months.
