How to use a Hula Hoop

My little love bug Alexander loves nothing more than to dance (he shakes his hips back and forth and it’s hilarious), do hand-stands (which scare the crap out of me!) and hang from our push-up bar (in our kitchen). I’m not kidding… the little guy literally loves to do these 3 things all. day. long. And if we don’t laugh at his “moves,” he gets upset. What can I say, the kid likes an audience.

While we were visiting Vera and her family last night, Alex picked up a hula-hoop that they had and became intrigued… Alex had never done/tried a hula-hoop before, so this was brand new territory.

I’ll tell you what… my little guy practiced over and over and over again, and finally seemed to get it down after an hour or so…

Go, ALEX! 🙂

The funniest part was when we were driving home, Alexander gave me an “education” as to how to hula-hoop.

These were his steps (as I was asked 100 times, “Mom, are you listening?”)

So how to use a hula-hoop, as told by a 5 year old (who picked it up pretty quickly!):

1. Start moving your hips back and forth.
2. Take the hula-hoop and (his words) “zoom” it around your hips.
3. Balance the hula-hoop on your body and keep going back and forth.
4. Spin fast!
