Today’s my birthday! 33 years old.

God, I love my birthday!

I’m just one of those people, even at the age of (now) 33, that still counts down from May 1st all the way through May 23rd waiting for “my” day.  It’s still that exciting for me!

It’s funny, last night I set my alarm for 5:30AM thinking, “I want to get up extra early for my birthday!” When the alarm went off, I laughed… and turned it off.  On my birthday I wanted to sleep late (so I slept till 6:30AM). 😉

My boys decided to wake up with me…

Benjamin was the first to wish me Happy Birthday this morning.  He gave me a hug and then asked me, “Who do you get to fight today?” (I’m still confused by the statement, but I think he’s referring to a video game – I hope!)

Alexander was up next, he came down and gave me a big birthday hug and then sang to me, “Thanks for being my mom. Thanks for taking good care of me. Thanks for all the things you do. Thanks mom, I love you.”

When I went up to grab Henry out of his crib, I said to him, “Can you wish mommy a Happy Birthday?” He looked at me and said, “I pooped.”  Oh, yes… thanks, Henna!

And my William, actually… I heard William get up around 2:30AM and head to the bathroom.  I got up to make sure he was OK and he said to me through tired eyes and a groggy voice, “It’s your birthday, Mom…”  That’s my William.

There’s just something about a birthday!  It’s a celebration!  It’s a new year!  It’s the beginning of the beginning of my 33rd year… and I’m TRULY, TRULY excited and ready for this year!
