Wedding planning: save the date!

Is anyone else shocked that the 4th of July has already come and gone? The summer is already flying by!

I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th! We are living right on the parade route in Bristol, RI, home to the longest continuously-running Independence Day parade in the country, so we had a big pahty. It was so much fun!

Also fun? Wedding planning is in full swing! Brian and I have a date, a church, a wedding party and a venue – Bristol Yacht Club. This will be our view on July 14, 2012:

The yacht club has special meaning for a few reasons. First of all, it’s where Brian learned to sail and where he spent a lot of time sailing as a youngster.

It also overlooks Bristol Harbor, on which Brian and I had our first date on September 1, 2009.

September 1, 2009, just before Brian took me and Tansy around the harbor on his boat

When we walked in to Bristol Yacht Club to look at it as a potential wedding venue, it just felt right for both of us.

I’m looking forward to planning the rest of our wedding as all the details come together for our big day – just a little over a year from now!

Glad you had a good Fourth Jane! Unfortunately, not one of my favorite holidays because two of my dogs suffer from the fireworks starting the day before through the day after. But, nice to have a day off 😉
Love it that you’ve set a date and what a perfect place you’ve chosen! Time really does fly by so you’ll be married before you know it. I second Rhonda’s question: are doggies included? 😉 HUGS!

I think it’s the perfect place for a reception. It will make for some awesome pictures. Are you getting married at the same church as your mom and dad? I just remember her saying it was the church on Hope Street. That always sounded so perfect to me. Best of luck with your planning. Enjoy every minute. It will be here before you know it.

Nancy – You have a great memory! My parents did get married on a church on Hope St. but that was in Providence, RI and Brian and I are getting married in Warren, RI! However, Warren is where my parents had their wedding reception. 🙂

Funnily enough, I just spent the weekend talking dress styles and cakes with my cousin. She’ll be getting married in April. Can’t wait!
