Home Depot: Martha Stewart Carpet Installation – Webisode 6

I was as excited for this day as I had been for anything in a while!  This was the day that my Martha Stewart Living Carpet was being installed by The Home Depot.  I knew it would be a long day, we were having five rooms and a hallway done, but we had been wanting to carpet the house for so long.  Today would be the day that the dog stained floors would be covered in plush carpet, the day I would no longer need to explain to guests, “Those stains were there when we moved in!”

I can honestly say, I cannot believe how fast it all went in.  The installers were great.  They arrived on time and after a quick walk-through of the house, they took us out to confirm they had the correct carpeting and which room it would go in.  After that they got to work.  The old carpet in my basement and office was practically gone before they got in the front door!  My sons LOVED how fast the “guys” cut and rolled it up and I have to admit, so did I!  Within a couple hours all the tack strips were up and the padding was fitted and secured.

We bought them pizza and drinks and after a short lunch they were already bringing in carpet.  Almost all of the rooms had seams, so that slowed things down a bit, but it was well worth it for the quality job they did.  You’d NEVER know where the seam was.  My husband has always insisted he’d install any new carpet, but with the $39 whole house installation, he didn’t put up much of a fight!  I love my husband to death, but it would have taken him weeks to do what they did in a few hours, AND I don’t think he’d have been quite as flawless on the seams.

So as you can see, it was a pretty easy and pain free process.  Can’t wait to share the finished product with you in the next Webisode!  Paint after that!

Disclosure: Home Depot sponsored this installation.
