What to wear for a Hurricane

I can’t believe a hurricane is a’ coming!  We haven’t seen a hurricane (here) in Rhode Island in nearly 20 years!  I was about 14 years old. It’s crazy to think it’s been so long! I actually remember the last hurricane we had here like it was yesterday… we hung out at my Nana’s house (with my whole family) in her basement and prayed that our house didn’t get any damage. My parents wanted to make sure we were with everyone, that was the most important thing. But we all did hold our breath when we drove home after the hurricane hit…

We were lucky. Very lucky.

So now, as we prepare for the hurricane, my sons are asking tons of questions. They’re a little scared, but yet excited at the same time for this. Me? I’m not looking forward to it. I could do without a hurricane (especially if the power goes out!), but it doesn’t look like we’re going to avoid getting “hit.”

So how do I work this into a fashion blog today?

Oh, yes… what does one wear?

Well, one thing’s for sure — RAIN BOOTS…

Definitely need to make sure I have mine out and ready for some “action!” I have a feeling my backyard is going to be flooded and a little on the muddy side!

The wind is supposed to be INSANE, definitely need to have a windbreaker out and ready!

Want to make sure that I’m as prepared as can be for the hurricane! I haven’t worn a windbreaker in years! Good thing I just bought my sons’ ones this past spring.

And last, but not least… it’s all about the shorts. Even though it’s going to be windy and rainy… the temps are still going to be in the 70’s, so I’m taking out my mesh shorts. They’re comfortable. Waterproof. And functionably fabulous!

I’m sure my husband will be so excited that I have all this figured out! 😉
