Can you say “5 MINUTES”…

I’ve been writing a series of fun, easy little tidbits to share with your kids and grandkids each day… 365 Days of Literacy for Kids.

Each day in 2011, I’ve shared something interesting to talk about with kids –  a word, a poem, a flower, an insect, a letter… and in September, IDIOMS.

Today, the IDIOM I shared came to life as visually as any IDIOM possibly could – BURSTING AT THE SEAMS.

Here is the visual of the figurative:

I was just trying to get 5 more minutes of work done… but my granddog Tansy would hear none of this.  She was BURSTING AT THE SEAMS to get to the park with that tennis ball!

Yes, that’s Barry/Pop-up singing in the background.

And yes, we went to the park in less than 5 MINUTES.

Otherwise, Tansy was going to either stare at the ball, bounce the ball or stare at me until we did…

Ah, this is better…

And Ryder, the big sister, lets Tansy do all work to get to the park and then has just as much fun…

I’ll take this BURSTING AT THE SEAMS excitement any day!
