Would you or wouldn’t you? RED Lipstick?

I’ve been going back and forth with this one.

Traditionally speaking… I have stayed away from RED lipstick my whole life!  Although, I will say – I did wear RED lipstick when I was in high school, hoping to look like this…

Don’t ask…

I never went back to RED lipstick again.  And I keep capitalizing “RED” because it’s so bold to me, I feel like I have to!  But I’ve never worn it again.  Ever.  And it’s crazy because I know my husband would like me to (wink, wink).  I guess I just feel like it’s too much, it’s too bold, it’s too sexy for everyday life.

Or is it?

My RED lipstick debate.

So my question is… because it is a very hot trend right now, would you or wouldn’t you wear RED lipstick?

regardless of trends I never do anything “just because” it’s a trend…and ESPECIALLY with makeup! Good Lord, red is such a bright color… I even seen a lot of lavendar colored lipstick in the summer and thought ICK! Like, seriously, WHO does that actually look good on? with Red lipstick I just think of it as maybe for a photo or for a special event but def not an everyday lip color for anyone in this century 😛 lol It reminds me of the 80’s and that music video with the gals in black dresses and slicked back hair…?? is that the picture you have above? hahaha… it looked just like that!

I wore red today!!! “Angel Red” by Clinique is one of my favorites. I like the way Rachel Zoe wears red so I decided to copy.

First, not all shades of red are created equal. You have to find the one that suits you and doesn’t make you feel awkward — the important thing is to keep trying. If you see red lipstick on someone and it looks awesome and they kind have your coloring don’t be afraid to ask them what the brand and color are.

Also I think there are two types of red lipstick wearers. Those who wear it with a ton of eye make up and blush and those who wear it with mascara and otherwise neutral make-up. I prefer the latter. It looks sharp, professional, and can be worn every day.

I have always wanted to go Red, but never have. So, instead I went a hot pink this summer (which usually I just stick to pale lipgloss or neutral shades). It felt fun to go pink…so I may just be one step closer to go Red now. I always worry though, if I were to smile, would I have Red lipstick all over my teeth? hehehe…
