Last week I was asked by a reader when to wear a Faux Fur Vest… I loved her email because it made me smile – she wrote (and she gave me permission to write it)…

“I know you love Rachel Zoe and have loved you talk about her style. I see she wears Faux Fur Vests a lot and that you love them, too. But when could a ‘normal’ person like me wear a Faux Fur Vest?  I don’t want to look foolish in one!”

Well… today was the PERFECT day for a Faux Fur Vest.

I woke up this morning to the electricity out in our house.  It was around 4AM, Henry had woken up and was asking for help finding his blankie, with the lights out – he couldn’t see it.  I was SO BUMMED to see the lights out, it brought me back to Hurricane Irene when we were out for 5 days!  So this morning, the ONLY thing I could see before I headed out to the door to my sister’s Confirmation was my Faux Fur Vest that I just bought. I got mine at T.J.Maxx… it’s a Max Studio and I bought it for $49.99… it’s brown and teal and it’s my FAVE new item!

So… what to wear with it and when?

With snow on the ground.  With the chill in the air.  And with a Confirmation to be at (which I wanted to be dressed up for), I knew this would be the perfect opportunity!  But even if I didn’t have a Confirmation… a Faux Fur Vest to wear ANYWHERE in the winter is golden.  It’s super cozy and super fashionable… I suggest wearing it with jeans and a black/navy/brown/white/cream turtleneck sweater.  Find NEUTRAL colors to wear with it on top b/c allow the Vest to be the “main attraction…!”
