Daily Diary: I love what I find in their backpacks

There’s one part of my day that is the most fun for me… it’s that moment the boys walk through the door from school, they run off to play or grab a snack… and I unpack their backpacks. I LOVE seeing what treasures they’ve packed inside… day after day after day. William and Alex’s backpacks are always filled with their papers from school, and I love seeing what they’ve been working on and how they’re doing. They get so excited to tell me, “MOM! Did you see the star (or happy face) I got on that paper?” It’s adorable. My Ben and Henry’s backpacks are usually filled with artwork that they’ve done. Last week Henry came home with a paper filled with SpongeBob stickers and it was like gold to him. We immediately had to hang it on the wall of his bedroom. I just never know what I’m going to find, and I love that.

Yesterday William’s backpack was filled with papers that made me smile from ear-to-ear. I love when he brings home papers where he’s had to write about his likes or his life. I always love to see his answers. And his paper last night did not disappoint…

I personally love the Black Eyed Peas comment. Oh… and Bacon.

This is my favorite part of the day too! I love looking at her papers, seeing the things her friends give her and then asking her questions about the things I find in there. Though she left her lunch box at school over Christmas break and that wasn’t so cool. Mold. Mold. More Mold. Ick.

It’s my favorite part of the day too! My Maggie just started preschool and she comes home everyday with the cutest art projects! We can open an art gallery with all the things she brings home!

    I love your son’s bacon comment the most – he’s a smart kid 🙂
