Your Life Calling.  

I love these words strung together… a simple reminder of the wonders that await us if we open our eyes, our minds and our hearts to the incredible and maybe even the seemingly impossible in our lives.  And as I get older, I love these words even more because I have no restrictions on my possible!

Do you follow Emmy-award-winning journalist Jane Pauley as she shines the spotlight on people age 50+ who are reinventing themselves in new and different ways?   Jane (I feel that I can call her Jane because I feel I know her so well after all these decades!) is back once a month on NBC’s TODAY show as AARP’s contributor.  I’ve always loved and respected Jane for her journalistic brilliance, her honesty and her home-town real, and her Your Life Calling TODAY is a wonderful extension of Jane’s appeal.

Jane Pauley will be on the NBC TODAY show Wednesday morning, June 20th, between 8:30 – 9:00 am with the latest in the series, Your Life Calling TODAY. Wednesday’s story is about Jan Erickson, who reinvented her life in her 50’s by starting ‘Janska,’ a company that manufactures fashionable, easy-to-wear clothing, allowing women to dress with ultimate comfort, dignity, and style—even with limited mobility. Inspired by a friend’s need, Janska clothing is nearly effortless to put on and take off.

As I watched the promo video of Jan, I felt elated, inspired and motivated to get out there and continue to do the things I want to do.  I thought  of my 50+ friends, too… Connie, my dear friend and college buddy (oh, so many years ago!), in her quest to run her first 5K this very coming weekend; Nancy and Rhonda, my virtual friends and fellow Grandma Bloggers who became oh-so-real when I flew to Chicago to meet and hug and not-stop-talking-to them; and I thought of my husband Barry who ran his first 5k this past October, because he knew he could with the right training.

All of our LIVES ARE CALLING.

It’s time, like Connie and Nancy and Rhonda and Barry and me and JAN to listen to the call… “a dream, an idea, a gift, a life that matters”…
