There’s something very special about waking up every morning and seeing a smile from ear-to-ear on Alex’s face. The little man is ALWAYS happy. From the day he was born I said to my husband, “It’s like he’s just happy to be here!” And for the last 7 years that’s exactly what it’s been like.

Today that HAPPY little man turns 7 years old.

I’ll never forget that beautiful, warm day in NYC on September 28th, 2005. I had been sent home from the hospital the night before because they were full and they said I wasn’t in full labor yet. I remember not sleeping a wink that night, but getting out of bed on the 28th thinking, “Today’s the day!” We walked to the hospital that morning and I’ll just never forget how beautiful the day was with the sun shining.

I’ll also never forget having this feeling throughout my pregnancy that it was a BOY and that he was going to be this stunner. And when they placed this beautiful little man in my arms, all just felt right in the world. He was perfect.

I can’t quite describe just how much utter joy Alex brings into my life without tearing up. He was wanted so badly, we started trying for Alex when William was 3 months old! That’s how badly he was wanted… and he came to us so quickly.

We are blessed, truly blessed to have him.

And so my Alex… who loves the peace sign and saying, “SUP, MOM!?” Happy 7th Birthday!!
