Must Read: The Good Life for Less by Amy Allen Clark

One of the beautiful things about being in a blogger is being able to see your fellow blogging friends succeed and doing amazing things.

Case in point… my friend Amy Allen Clark.

I received a copy of her book in the mail yesterday… The Good Life for Less.

Let me start off saying this, I met Amy back in 2009. When I first met Amy (and her husband Ryan!), I just instantly feel in love with her. I loved her energy. I loved her passion for blogging. I loved how open she was about sharing her success of MomAdvice.com. I loved her humor and wit. She was a wonderful blogging friend to meet and get to know. This for me has ALWAYS been the most amazing thing about blogging, creating and forming bonds and friendships.

When Amy first let everyone know that she was writing a book, I was thrilled for her. Her content on MomAdvice.com is so helpful and informative… it seemed like a natural fit to turn her content, her words, her vision into a book.

Well… I will say, when I dove into the Introduction last night, I was hooked.

I don’t want to give too much away because this book is PERFECT for anyone… single newlywed, married for 10, 20, 30 or 40 years!… it doesn’t matter, this book is great and will work for ANYONE.

I’ve never been one that budgeted or saved my money. I always laugh when I think back to the days Matt and I lived in NYC living paycheck to paycheck. I laugh because even though we were “struggling”… we were eating our every single night, we were going to the movies and theatre, we were buying items left and right for our apartment… if we had just been “smart” with our money, we could have saved up for those first 5 years. But we didn’t… and what I love about Amy’s book is that she’s so honest and open with her story. She’s been there and she’s done that… and this book is a wonderful took to teach you how to literally Live the Good Life for Less. I LOVED her message and I LOVED the tips and advice Amy dispenses throughout.

My FAVORITE chapters were #3 and #5… simply because these are areas I am constantly trying to be better about… Chapter 3: Recipes to Prepare and Share 5: Keep Your House Clean, Organized and Welcoming.

I had my highlighter with me last night as I went through the recipes.

I’m anxious to try — Chicken Broccoli Lo Mein, Crispy Baked Chicken Tenders, Shoestring Oven Fries, Heavenly Banana Bread and Homemade Cocoa Mix. Amy makes these recipes easy to do and not intimidating. I also love how she gives her personal commentary before each one… makes me want to try everything even more!

My house always seems to be in utter chaos with the 4 boys… it’s not always a great way to live. I LOVED how Amy gives advice as to make this daunting task a lot more doable. Make a Housework Plan… simple advice, but true advice. This is something I don’t do and REALLY need to be doing!

This book is just FANTASTIC.

From beginning to end, you really feel like Amy is your girlfriend giving you advice.

Amy truly shows you how to maximize your paycheck and how you CAN (indeed) live the good life for less.

Thank you, Amy!

Wonderful book!!
