I usually don’t watch celebrity documentaries.

I’ve often felt that there’s not really a true way for a celeb to connect with the “average folk.” Celebs have money and fame, and the I guess I’ve just always wondered, “What do they have in common with me?” They have anything and everything at their fingertips. And especially with being a working mom, I know we all struggle with the motherhood vs. career balance… but – come on, how much easier is it for people with teams of people – nannies, cooks, assistants, stylists, trainers, etc – we aren’t living on the same reality path of life.

Whenever I see a celebrity coming up with their “true story” or a documentary on their life, I always shy away from tuning in. I just don’t have the desire or the need to watch.

But this afternoon I happened to catch this…

Beyonce.

I’ve always loved and admired Beyonce. She does a fantastic job at staying out of the crazy spotlight and just does her own thing.

She said one line in this trailer that I loved, “Power is not given to you, you have to take it.”

I believe that.

And I honor that.

I will be tuning into this documentary.

You can bet that.
