AVEENO Baby Skin Care Products

With the birth of our 5th baby 4 weeks ago, we’ve quickly got ourselves back into “baby mode.” We haven’t had a baby in our house since Henry was born, that was 5 years ago!  I have to say, I missed having a baby around – there’s something very soothing and beautiful about the sound of cooing and the magical eyes of a baby.

Having a new baby has also made me completely aware of the baby products I’m bringing into my home and made me very careful as to what I’m using on her.  I’ve really loved trying out AVEENO Baby products because they’ve helped to nourish, soothe and protect Victoria’s sensitive skin.  Her skin is so delicate right now and it’s been flaking, so I’ve been making sure I’m using sensitive products on her.  It’s funny, at the beginning of the summer… before I had Victoria… I would be with my Henry in the Kiddie Pool at our Pool Club and all the moms would be lathering AVEENO Baby CONTINUOUS PROTECTION Sunscreen Lotion on their little ones.  It was almost as if it was the “required” lotion because everyone was using it.

What appealed to me about the lotion was that it’s “mild as water with soothing oatmeal.” I’ve tried to get really good at making sure the boys aren’t in the sun for hours and hours on end, we go to the pool in the morning for a couple of hours and then we head home. But… the sun is still VERY hot from 8-11AM, and now with Victoria – I’m even more of a stickler to get home. I’ve been worried about what to put on her skin because she’s so tiny and I love that there’s a product for babies. The AVEENO recommends only using on babies over 6 months, so I haven’t tried this on her yet, but again — it’s wonderful to know this is out there and available for moms. The amount of moms I see using it on their little ones has been incredible. Another thing that’s great… AVEENO® Baby CONTINUOUS PROTECTION Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 55 combines ENVIROGUARD™ Technology, which maintains broad spectrum protection over time, with skin-soothing ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal to care for baby’s delicate skin. This nongreasy, fragrance-free, natural oatmeal formula helps prevent moisture loss and is water resistant for 80 minutes.

OK… and since I’m talking AVEENO BABY, I want to dish about 3 products I’ve used on Miss Victoria and really loved.

AVEENO Baby Calming Comfort Bath is something we’ve used at tub time for her. It contains scents of lavender and vanilla (which are delish, by the way to smell!). It’s formulated with ACTIVE NATURALS® Oat Extract, which really helps retain moisture to her skin, while still leaving it clean and nice and soft. With her sensitive skin, I’ve been very impressed with this product.

AVEENO Baby Daily Moisture Lotion has helped on her little legs. Her baby skin on her legs has been a little flaky at times, so I’ve been lathering this on her. It’s not greasy at all and really does moisturize for a good 24 hours. I put it on her at bedtime. It contains natural colloidal oatmeal blended with rich emollients that soothe and help protect and has no drying alcohols. It’s formulated to be hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and gentle enough for daily use on baby’s sensitive skin.

AVEENO Baby Soothing Relief Diaper Rash Cream is FABULOUS for bummies!! I’ve been very lucky with all my kids where they’ve never had bad diaper rash, but I love having a product that I can use to prevent any redness. It’s very important for moms and dads to know that this contains ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal and rich emollients that soothe dry, delicate skin. It’s clinically proven to moisturize for 24 hours and soothe dry, sensitive skin. This formula absorbs quickly and is gentle enough for infants and babies with sensitive skin. It’s hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. This is the kind of product information I love to know about… especially when it’s for a sensitive body part, too.

I have to say, I’ve been very impressed with AVEENO Baby.

And so has my Victoria. 🙂
