American Girl of the Year: Grace Thomas

**Blog Post by Mom Generations NYC Editor Valerie Vazquez.

My 6 year old daughter is obsessed with American Girl and that is putting it mildly.

I find myself living my childhood through her and truly most of our favorite memories involve American Girl.

American Girl Grace Thomas

We have celebrated her actual birthday at the Cafe for the past 3 years; every November we plan a trip to the iconic American Girl store to write her list for Santa (she needs hands on time to make her Santa selections) and this year we shared in the quintessential New York Holiday experience by watching the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and dinner at the American Girl Cafe.

The day we found out she was having a little brother we visited the American Girl store and brought home a Bitty Baby brother to prepare her for her big sis role.

As you can see American Girl is truly engrained in Sophia’s childhood and I couldn’t be happier to share the love with her. It is with great pleasure that we welcome the 2015 Girl of the Year, Grace Thomas to our family!!

Grace is an avid baker with an entrepreneurial spirit. She is motivated to follow her dream of starting a baking business after an inspiring trip to Paris. Grace is available only this year and truly is a must for every little girl.

To further Grace’s message that working together is the best recipe for success, American Girl has created For Goodness, Bake! a year-long fundraising initiative in support of No Kid Hungry, the campaign to end childhood hunger in American.

American Girl is encouraging girls to host charity bake sales in their local communities and donate the proceeds to No Kid Hungry. To kick off this initiative the every socially conscious American Girl has donated $50,000 to No Kid Hungry! I’m proud to say that Sophia’s school has committed to donating to donating the proceeds of their February bake sale to No Kid Hungry!

Grace Thomas is available in retail locations nationwide and online at Americangirl.com

MomGenerations will keep you up to date on upcoming Grace related events throughout the year such as Sur La Table cooking classes and retail store events.
