It’s Tuesday!

Anyone else wake up thinking it was Monday?

It’s a beautiful day in Rhode Island today – the sun is out, the sky is blue and our flowers are finally beginning to really POP with some gorgeous colors.

Today is the kind of fashion day that I need to dress it up a bit, but don’t feel like beauty’ing it up. Does that make sense? LOL… I don’t mind dressing up, but I don’t feel like doing my hair or putting on makeup (it’s too hot!). That being said, I felt like today is the perfect day for a ponytail and sunglasses (translation – I don’t need to do my hair or do my eyes).

I’ve been dying to wear my new skirt that I got for my birthday on Saturday from Free People… it’s this gorgeous blue/black/white skirt that I have had my eye on forever. I went to Macy’s on Saturday for a little birthday shopping trip and saw that it was on sale and with an additional 50% OFF! That within itself was a birthday gift… but wait, there’s more! I had an additional 20% OFF coupon. So this $150 skirt, I ended up getting for $43 at checkout. My husband bought me blue RayBans for my birthday… so I figured today would be a Fashion Blues kinda day (especially with my denim blazer!).

This Free People skirt is the most comfortable skirt ever! It’s lightweight and just flows when you walk. I love that it’s got the mermaid style to it, too – short in the front, longer in the back. Since I really want the attention on my skirt, I’m rocking a plain gray tank this morning with a denim blazer (for any a/c areas today!).

My shoes are from Rack Room Shoes… they are Guess Wedges! I’m 5 feet, so I need ANY extra height I can get with this skirt! 🙂
