20 Things My Kids (and HUSBAND) Think Magically Appear at Home

I didn’t realize that on top of being a mother and a wife, I’m a magician, too. Apparently many mothers are magicians and we harness these amazing powers that make things magically appear and things magically disappear, too.

What can I say, we hold the magic right in the palm of our hand.

Last night as I was helping with homework and just do a few things around the house, I realized that one of my son’s (his name will be withheld from this post) was in the bathroom for about 20 minutes. I kept calling to make sure he was OK and he kept saying he was fine, but after awhile… I was getting a little annoyed.

“What’s the problem, buddy?”

“There’s no toilet paper.”

Yup. No. Toilet paper. I was actually wondering if he was going to keep sitting there until a roll magically appeared from the sky. LOL!! This little “situation” happens about once a day in our house with 7 people. It’s something that I always take care of throughout the day. Checking to see if I need to replacement it or buy more toilet paper. It’s one of those things that I don’t even think about, I just do. What can I say, it’s become part of my mom fabric of life.

But what got me was that my son just sort of assumed that the roll replaces itself on its own. It’s MAGIC. I am the magician that makes it all look – well, easy and seamless and magical. It got me thinking, what else do my sons think just magically appear on their own?

1. Toilet Paper (this we know)
2. Tooth Paste
3. Tooth Brushes
4. Shampoo
5. Soap in the shower
6. Conditioner
7. Tub is always spotless
8. Hand Soap near the bathroom sink
9. Mouth Wash
10. Clean undies
11. Matched socks.
12. Laundry (as a whole)
13. Clean towels
14. Thermos clean from lunch
15. Clean wash clothes
16. Milk
17. Paper Towels
18. Dish soap in the kitchen
19. Hand Towel in the Kitchen
20. Hand sanitizer

Every singe day.

or at least every single week.

These are magically replaced.

I’m thinking I need to start giving out chores to these boys.

What do you think?

Am I alone on this one? Do your kids think things magically appear, too?

DINNERS! I swear my husband thinks it just magically appears as he gets home. Totally doesn’t get that I cook with a black lab at my feet begging and a 2 year old pulling on me!

That’s so funny that he was just sitting there waiting for it to appear. LOL

But yes, we moms do seem to make things magically appear.
