‘Tis the season!

I’m heading to Foxwoods Resort Casino with a group of girlfriends this Saturday for some fun, shopping and girl time! Honestly, I can’t wait!!

Yes… yes… yes… Foxwoods is known for their awesome casino, but there’s so much more! It’s the largest resort casino in North America with 340,000 square feet of world class gaming space, including 4,800 slots and 256 table games; 95 poker tables; high stakes Bingo; Keno, and the Ultimate Race Book. I’m not a big casino girl, but my husband loves it! We only live about 45 minutes from Foxwoods so it’s a super easy and fun destination to head to for a night or even a weekend away! I JUMPED at the chance to head there this weekend for a straight-up girls trip!! And the best part… we’ll be shopping, ice skating and just enjoy the extra luxuries at Foxwoods!!

Here’s our planned schedule:

First up – SHOPPING!! You know this is MY favorite activity to do… and shopping at Foxwoods just got better. Next up – Ice Skating!! Oh, yes!! I love, love, love ice skating. I haven’t been ice skating since right before I had my first baby – over 11 years ago!! I just cannot wait to try it out with some friends!! Foxwoods has a GORGEOUS outdoor rink that is located behind the Fox Tower. Whether for a quick trip with the girls or your family, it’s a fabulous and beautiful destination and activity to check out! And don’t worry if you don’t have skates – you can rent!! The trees surrounding the rink are decorated with over 100,000 lights, which give it a beautiful holiday glow. After we all enjoy our skate, we get to have some hot chocolate while relaxing in Adirondack chairs set by one of four outdoor fireplaces that surround a fully decorated 30 foot Christmas tree. I mean… it doesn’t get any better than that, right?

Hours of Operation:
The Winter Rink opens for the season on November 27, with a grand opening celebration taking place on December 5.

Saturday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM

And!! For some extra fun, we’re going to TRY to see Santa while we’re there!! The jolly, big guy is an icon… so if we can grab a photo opp, that would be awesome!! We’ll hopefully have a chance to check out his workshop and the deluxe Gingerbread House constructed by the Foxwoods’ culinary team.
