Mother’s Day Surprise with Pampers

There’s something very special about Mother’s Day. It’s a day to give thanks and celebrate the moms in our life. I’ll never forget my vert 1st Mother’s Day. William was 8 months old and I was 4 months pregnant with Alexander. My husband surprised me by planning a trip back to Rhode Island (we were living in NYC) to visit my OWN mother for Mother’s Day. It was the best gift ever because I got to celebrate with my little man, but also my own mother. My husband also gifted me with a beautiful charm necklace that said “MOM” on it, it’s still one of my most cherished possessions.

Being a mother, it’s the best thing ever.

Pampers created a beautiful video honoring moms. As they say, “When a baby is born, a mom is born. And from that moment, she is never the same.”

As you know, I’m on the Pampers Blogger Board. One of the reasons why I love being on this board is because Pampers always us to give back and honor and celebrate special people. For Mother’s Day, Pampers gave me a stipend and gave me the “task” of finding mothers to honor. Since Mother’s Day was just days away, I thought it would be fun to honor (2) moms. One mom celebrating Mother’s Day for the very first time and one mom due right near Mother’s Day (we were hoping for a Mother’s Day baby!). I was so excited to do something for these 2 moms! Motherhood isn’t always easy, and I’ve always believed that we’re all “in this together.” I loved being able to do something very special and unique for these 2 amazing moms. Pampers really just went above and beyond on this one!

Let me start with the first time mom… Allison. Allison is the daughter of my son Ben’s teacher, Mrs. O. We have been blessed to have Mrs. O in our lives since William (my oldest!) was in kindergarten. She has had 3 of the boys in school – William, Alex and Ben. Mrs. O is the kind of teacher you hope and pray your child gets. She loves her students and treats them like her own during the school year. As a mom – I can’t tell you how amazing it is to know that your child is in hands of someone that does care and does love him during the day. Mrs. O’s daughter had her first baby this past April, first grandchild and everything! A very special baby girl bundle! Since Pampers wanted us to honor a 1st time mom, I knew Allison was perfect! I wanted to give back to her like her mom has given back to my children. Since I’m a (ahem) seasoned mom, I thought the best kind of gift to give to Allison was a bunch of gift cards for her to do as she pleases. I wanted Allison to be pampered, get things she needs, get things for herself and enjoy a little date night with her husband! I also know that you can NEVER have enough totes, diapers and blankets with a new baby, so I gift her with a canvas tote, diapers and an adorable pink towel (that is one of our faves at home!).

We got to honor Allison today and it was amazing! She was so touched and so appreciative. This is the beauty of being on the Pampers board, I got to do something amazing for someone else… and it felt GREAT! And! Bonus for me, I got to hold the baby!!

For the other special mom I got to honor, it’s someone I’m very (very) close to – my baby sister!

Jane is due to have Baby Eve ANY DAY NOW! We were hoping for a Mother’s Day baby, but Eve had other plans. She’s not ready quite yet! My sister is my sister. She’s everything to me. When I had my oldest son, she drove to NYC to be there. When I had my second son one year later, she drove to NYC to be there. She’s always been there for me, helping me out with the 5 kids… never complaining, always helping. She’s just truly the best. When she found she was pregnant with her first baby, Brian… I was JUST about to have Victoria! I was ecstatic for her and couldn’t wait to see my sister a mom. When I found out she was pregnant with her second baby and a GIRL… I was so happy for my sister. My sister has always been so gracious with her time and energy in helping me out, I wanted to return the favor. Someone stole the base of her baby stroller a couple of weeks ago. Since Brian is a toddler, it’s been OKAY getting by with another stroller, but with Eve due any day, I know she’s been worried about getting a new one because it’s the piece that fits her carseat to it, too. And it’s a little on the pricey side.

I surprised her by ordering it online and sent her the confirmation email.

My sister couldn’t even call me! She texted me that she was crying because she couldn’t believe that I got it for her. I said… not me, Pampers! As she said, now she’s OFFICIALLY ready for baby!

I want to personally thank Pampers from the bottom of my heart. I was so touched that you gave us the ability to go out and do something incredible for other moms. I can tell you that you made the day of 2 moms who didn’t expect anything. It was just extraordinary being able to gift 2 deserving women.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
