Hello to CVS Digital Receipts! #ReceiptYouLater #CVS

My love and history with CVS Pharmacy goes way back!

First off, I live in Rhode Island (where CVS Pharmacy headquarters are located!), so CVS Pharmacy has always been near and dear to my heart because throughout the years I’ve known a bunch of people who have worked for the company. It’s really wonderful for our “little” state to have such an incredible business headquartered here! It’s a very big deal for Rhode Islanders.

Not to mention, throughout my life there has ALWAYS been a CVS Pharmacy within miles! My childhood home had one about 3 miles away, where my mom would let me ride my bike and buy some tween essentials (otherwise known as Revlon’s Pink Foil Lipstick). In college I had one within blocks from my dorm in Providence, RI. When I moved to NYC after college, there was one across the street from my apartment. And now… I live about 2 1/2 miles from one!

As you can see, CVS Pharmacy has been part of my life, which makes this announcement from them VERY exciting and VERY special – they’ve GONE DIGITAL!!

We all have a history with those long receipts… and truth be told, the longer the receipt the better because there’s more coupons and savings! My kids always get a kick out of how long they can be at times! Just look at our latest ones… they are almost as long as my 2 year old daughter!

I LOVE that CVS has decided to go digital and (if preferred by the customer) cut out the paper! That’s right – we can say good-bye if we want to! Screen Shot 2016-06-03 at 9.16.16 AMScreen Shot 2016-06-03 at 9.15.38 AM

All CVS customers will still benefit from the ExtraCare Program with the coupons and savings, but they will have the option for digital receipts over paper receipts. CVS has made it super easy for their customer, you just opt in if you want digital! Everything is rolling out in early June and will eventually be available in 7,900 retail locations!

Pretty incredible, right!?

And an important to note to remember, once a customer opts out of the printed receipts, they will automatically start receiving the digital receipts and coupons.

The cool thing was seeing this MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT from CVS Pharmacy revealed on Jimmy Kimmel by CVS President Helena Foulkes! Just in case you missed it, check it out:

Woohoo!!

Quick Review of Opting-in for the Digital Receipts:

1. You must make sure you’re a member of the ExtraCare Program. If not, it’s super easy to sign up, just head over here. The best part about being enrolled in the ExtraCare Program is that you receive savings that are personalized. Also, make sure you have downloaded the free CVS Pharmacy app.

2. You can start getting your digital receipts by completing a one-time opt-in process in-store. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask a sales associate.

3. All of your digital coupons and savings are redeemable by using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. There’s nothing better than having everything easy for you right on your smartphone!

4. If you prefer the paper receipts (because you’re just used to it and don’t want to switch), that’s fine. CVS will still offer the paper receipts for the customers who prefer using that option.

Love it! It’s as easy as that!
