American Girl Cafe NYC

American Girl Cafe NYC is a sight to be seen. It’s a dream come true for me and my girl. I feel like I’ve waited a lifetime for this experience, but it finally happened. I took my daughter to the American Girl Store and American Girl Cafe NYC and it was INCREDIBLE, everything I wished and hoped it would be (and more!).

I remember back in the late 80’s, my younger cousin just falling in love with the American Girl Dolls. If my memory serves me correct, she had a doll named Samantha (who she brought everywhere she went!). I was “just” that much older to miss the American Girl craze, but I was just really captured by the genius of it all… a little girl learning about history, while falling in love with a new best doll friend.

What I’ve loved about American Girl throughout the years is this… they have ignited the strength inherent in all girls by developing products and experiences that help them reach their full potential. After having 4 little boys right in a row, I thought American Girl would be something I would just be able to celebrate and cherish with my nieces, but I was wrong to assume.

In 2013, my Victoria arrived and it was a brand new pink and doll world for me! American Girl has been that magical brand that I couldn’t wait to introduce her to and enjoy with her! At 3 years old, I finally had my time to head to the American Girl Store and Cafe with my Victoria in New York City! I brought along my 4 sons and my husband to join in and believe it or not, they had a fun time, too! I think it was just really cool for us all to be there together!

It was 3 floors of awesomeness!

So what American Girl Doll did Victoria end up choosing?

Truly Me™ Doll #63: Light Skin, Blond Hair, Blue Eyes! Which she named EMMA.

The 18–inch Truly Me doll has a huggable cloth body, eyes that open and close, hair that can be styled, and a movable head and limbs made of smooth vinyl. We love “Emma!” We’re so excited to have her as part of our family. We bought her pajamas, a hair brush and an adorable pink dress! And now Santa has some ideas for Christmas, too! 🙂
