Lands’ End is Helping to Keep Kids Learning this Summer #LoveLearning #LandsEndKids

Lands’ End is helping to keep kids learning this summer and I absolutely (positively) love it! As a mom of 5, with kids going into pre-K, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th, I worry about the “summer slump.” My kids are so tuned in during the school year with reading, math, science, social studies and projects… but then as summer sets in along with its busy schedule of swim meets, basketball leagues and camps, staying in school mode starts to take a backseat.

Well, I’m thrilled to share with you all that Lands’ End is here to help and add some education fun into your child’s life this summer! I just love seeing a brand that I love and use all the time for my family doing something so amazing for kids! Truly warms my heart because Lands’ End is always a back to school staple for me, and this year they’re a back to school necessity for me (again) but in a different way, too!

Kicking off TODAY on National Summer Learning Day, Lands’ End together with Steve Spangler Science and Brightly, a website from Penguin Random House, is kicking off their Love Learning campaign. Their goal is to make sure education doesn’t take a vacation this summer.

How are they dong this?

Parents and kids can log on to Landsend.com/LoveLearning weekly from now through August 31, 2017, to discover do-it-yourself science experiments, book recommendations, an art contest and exclusive, limited edition science tees.

We are HUGE science lovers in our house. As a matter of fact, my husband throughout the school year loves to do different experiments with my sons because they have such a passion for it. I love seeing them come alive with something that happens during a cool experiment, it’s such a big win for them (and me!). This passion can be ignited even more this summer with science experiments with Steve Spangler. Steve is America’s Science Teacher, he’s a YouTube star and classroom science teacher who will be hosting his own national television series called DIY Sci starting this September on FOX affiliates across the country.  He will be joining Join Lands’ End TODAY (July 13th) on Facebook at 11:00 a.m. CT/12:00 p.m. ET for a Facebook Live demonstration. Steve will demonstrate several science experiments, and parents and kids can find additional science activities to do at home on their on time this summer over at www.landsend.com/LoveLearning.

But that’s not all!

Summer reading is something that all kids should be doing throughout the summer. I remember my mom taking me (and my siblings) to the library in the summer every Monday morning for us to find a new book to read for the week. I was obsessed with mysteries, so I would always try to find a new Nancy Drew book to read, those were my favorite! Lands’ End is helping you to keep your own young minds inspired and learning this summer with the latest book recommendations from Brightly. Each Thursday through August 31, 2017, Lands’ End will feature Brightly’s Book Pick of the Week along with thoughtful discussion questions for parents and kids to encourage reading comprehension. Kids can join in the adventures of favorite characters such as EllRay Jakes, Dory Fantasmagory and Bea Garcia, follow Dr. Seuss characters in a search for a new pet and help solve a baseball mystery with the bestselling “Magic Treehouse” book series. Find a new literary adventure each week on the #LoveLearning landing page. I’m really excited for this because I love getting recommendations for my kids to choose from, it makes book hunting for them that much easier!

For my art lovers (calling my sons Ben and Alex and Henry!), I’ve got a HUGE treat for you from Lands’ End, too! From now until July 20, 2017, children ages 4 to 18 can create an original work of art to show how he or she loves learning. Reading, science, math, technology, swimming, riding a bike…the field is open. Just think about how they love to learn, learning is in everything we do, so encourage your kids to have some fun with it! Kids may use whatever art medium they like best including digital, paints, markers and crayons. Parents can submit their child’s art at landsend.com/lovelearning. The contest is divided into age groups: 4-6, 7-10, 11-14 and 15-18. All first, second, third and grand prize finishers will receive a free Lands’ End backpack, lunch box and t-shirt personalized with their original artwork. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will also be awarded to first, second and third place finishers and an overall grand prize winner will receive $1000 and a chance to have their artwork appear in an upcoming catalog! How cool is that!? I just love seeing this offered to kids!

And… I’ve got to share a little Lands’ End fashion for you, too! Since I’m (literally) obsessed with Lands’ End clothing for me and my entire family, I was THRILLED to see that Lands’ End knows and understands that kids love learning so much that they oftentimes wear it. Oh, yes… from space tees to a love of animals for both boys and girls, this Back to School season kids can wear a love of learning back to class. In celebration of National Summer Learning Day, regular-price Lands’ End Kids graphic tees will be 50 percent off for one day only on July 13. You read that correctly, 50% OFF! In addition, each week a limited edition graphic tee will be introduced to coordinate with that week’s science experiment.

My sons are OBSESSED with these 4 tees:

And my daughter (a HUGE animal lover!) LOVES:

Visit Landsend.com/lovelearning each week to collect all eight tees.

Again, there’s something pretty remarkable when you see a brand doing something so incredibly good and powerful for our kids! I love that Lands’ End is bringing so much FUN into education during the summer to help out kids out and keep them motivated. The best is seeing how they are truly just making it a good time for them with fun science experiments, fun drawing contests and wonderful reading recommendations and discussions! Bravo to Lands’ End! I think this is just AMAZING! Thank you for doing this for our kids (I will be joining in on the science and reading fun, too!).

Disclosure: I have partnered with Lands’ End for their Back to School campaign. All opinions are 100% my own.
