#SleptLikeThis Pampers Experience with Nick and Vanessa Lachey

#SleptLikeThis Pampers Experience with Nick and Vanessa Lachey

I had the incredible opportunity on Wednesday afternoon to moderate a panel for Pampers at their NYC #SleptLikeThis experience. The panel discussion topic was on all things about baby sleep then afterwards, attendees were invited to go around the event space and engage within the sleep-themed stations. As a mom of 5 (as you can imagine) I’ve had my share of sleep related questions and experiences throughout the years, so this was a true treat for me to be part of and help guide the interesting and informative discussion!

The panel comprised of 4 incredible experts:

– Pampers expert, Global Scientific Communications Principal Scientist, Dr. Veronica Sanchez.
– Mom of two, author, family therapist and often known as “The Sleep Lady”, Kim West.
– Last, but certainly not least – you may know him from 98 Degrees and her as a TV personality (or more recently have seen them both on ‘Dancing with the Stars,’), but first and foremost they are parents to three adorable kids, Nick and Vanessa Lachey.

For growing babies, sleep is synonymous with busy brains and moving bodies and the positions they sleep in. The interesting thing is that often times, sleep positions capture the essence of a baby’s personality – sometimes sweet, sometimes silly, and sometimes hilarious. Now we’ve all seen the fun Instagram selfies with the hashtag #WokeUpLikeThis, if you haven’t – go check it out now! It’s so funny! Well… I love this… Pampers is giving babies a chance to show off their sleep personality with the hashtag #SleptLikeThis !!

This is all in celebration of Pampers Baby Dry, which is now thinner and drier vs previous Baby Dry for outstanding overnight protection with the same Pampers comfort babies have come to know and love! We have used Pampers Baby Dry at night for all of our kids, so I know firsthand how amazing and incredible they are for babies. Actually – it’s funny – I have been buying Pampers for 13 1/2 years continuously!! My daughter is STILL in Pampers Easy-ups!

Listening to each of the experts speak was incredibly knowledgeable! I loved how Dr. Sanchez explained why Pampers Baby Dry is so wonderful for babies and explained the science behind it. I loved how Kim West shared sleep tips and why sleep is so important. And I LOVED how Nick and Vanessa were so honest and real about their parenting experiences. It was refreshing listening to a couple who didn’t hold anything back and (you could tell) truly love the brand. It was a really awesome afternoon to be part of with this crew!

I had 4 BIG takeaways that I wanted to share with you:

– Nick and Vanessa shared the importance of a routine with their kids. It was great to hear what they do and why it’s worked for them so well. Even when they travel, they keep their kids in a routine, which helps immensely. Also, they have consistently used Pampers with all 3 kids because it’s a brand they trust and it’s what they’re comfortable in.

– Kim West reiterated that consistency is key. She recommended that you should identify and better understand your babies’ sleep habits so you can adjust sleep time rituals, all so that everyone can start getting a better night’s sleep.

– Dr. Sanchez shared that babies are more likely to wake up after they wet their diaper so choosing the right one that will keep them dry could actually affect your baby’s sleep patterns. This is very important! Pampers Baby Dry is equipped to handle all of baby’s activity overnight, with the diaper holding 30 times its weight in liquid, which is the equivalent to two to three bottles of milk or coffee.

– Kim West shared that sleep is a critical part of babies happy, healthy development with better sleeping patterns being associated with higher mental development test scores, sleep (or lack thereof) influence learning and memory. This is because babies’ central nervous system development is associated with their circadian sleep-wake rhythms. Sleep and circadian rhythm are also associated with immune function in babies, making sleep an important factor of their overall health.

It was such a fun event! After the panel everyone got to head to the sleep-themed stations and enjoy! I took a #SleptLikeThis Quiz to see what spirit animal Victoria is like when she sleeps… she’s a STARFISH!!

So cute!!
