What to Wear in 60 Degree Weather

SPRING HAS SPRUNG and finally you can ask the question What to Wear in 60 Degree Weather! I’m so glad it’s here! It’s been a long winter and I’m thrilled to see the snow off the ground. I’m done with boots and hats and gloves and scarves. I need my spring and summer clothes out now! I have to say – I love my tiny state of Rhode Island – but the weather here isn’t my favorite! I wish for warm days year round, but it’s just not how it is here! I’m all about spring styles right now and it’s something I crave in the middle of January! Now that we’re getting to that time, I’m excited to share some of my faves!

J.Crew is a destination I frequent quite a lot! I love it so much because the clothing is elegant, classic and beautiful. It doesn’t matter if you get a tee shirt or a dress, you feel beautiful in everything! When it’s 60 degrees here in Rhode Island the jackets go away and I’m all about bringing out some colorful clothing! This outfit is great because it’s super easy to put together. Spring styles are super fun and it’s something that is great – especially when you’ve been looking forward to this time of year for months!

J.Crew Spring 2019 Clothing

I’m all about finding styles and fashions that fit into my spring routine and that usually means (THANK GOD) no coat! Since I like to dress up for work as much as I can – I always love to add in a few new items on the “dressy” side of things for the season. I really want skirts to become a fun go to for me, so it’s great to find some gems and stick with them!

The question for most New Englanders “What to Wear in 60 Degree Weather?” is an easy one to answer when you know what you like to wear. Florals are usually the pattern I will go with during this time of year because it makes me happy and feel good! Flowers mean BLOOM and I’m all about trying to make this time of year BLOOM into something fabulous!

What to Wear in 60 Degree Weather – Here is a breakdown of my outfit! This is my go-to look!

Ruffle-neck top in Liberty® Flora Belle

An easy, versatile top in lightweight, layer-friendly cotton poplin that looks great under a blazer or paired with jeans. Oh and about that print—it comes from Liberty London, the British print house that’s been known for its mood-lifting florals since 1875.

  • Cotton.
  • Machine wash.
  • Import.
  • Item L1035.

Belted pull-on midi skirt in Liberty® Flora Belle blue

A removable belt, hidden elastic waist and feminine high-low hem aren’t the only things that make this skirt a spring must-have: The special floral comes from Liberty London (the British print house that’s been known for its mood-lifting blooms since 1875). By the way, we made a matching top!

  • Cotton.
  • Lined.
  • Machine wash.
  • Import.
  • Select stores.
  • Item K7713.

Denim Jacket

This is an easy spring go-to jacket!! I love this layer and it’s super easy to pop on and work with every look!

Steve Madden

These espadrilles are a staple for me! I wear them ALL the time and have different colors in them!

The Apolo from Steve Madden is perfect for maintaining a trendy wardrobe. These platform sandals feature a partial espadrille wedge, a chic ankle strap, and a revealing open toe that shows off your fresh pedi!

  • Item # 419315
  • UPC # 829105871670

J.Crew Polka Dot Sweater

Toss this little baby on with some white jeans and go! This is such a staple and can be worn throughout the spring and summer. Think BEACH with this gorgeous sweater! Perfect add-on!

Friends and customers have been asking us to bring back a few iconic styles from years past—and since we love a good throwback, we did. The rollneck sweater was first designed in 1988, and we’ve given it a few modern tweaks—like a slimmer fit and cropped length to pair with all your high-rise pants and jeans. Let those #tbt moments commence.

  • Cotton.
  • Machine wash.
  • Import.
  • Item L5875.

Hammered Satin Top

I am obsessed with this top! It’s so elegant and so pretty! You can easily wear with pants, shorts, skirts and jeans! Fabulous spring piece! It also comes in other color options!

We gave this work-to-weekend style a unique textured hammered satin and a clean, simple silhouette.

  • Poly.
  • Partially lined.
  • Import.
  • Item L1745.

Eyelet top in vintage cotton

I love this delicate top! It’s so cozy and very flattering, too! I figure you can wear these with jeans and pants and shorts. What I love is that you can really dress this tee up! I love finding items like that for myself!

We took our customer-favorite vintage cotton (famous for its heathered texture and softness) and added pretty woven eyelets into a flattering, super special babydoll top. Flutter sleeves, a keyhole back, and swingy body make it just as much a staple in the office as on the weekend.

  • Cotton.
  • Machine wash.
  • Import.
  • Item L3059.

Eye-let Hem Sweatshirt

Nobody does eyelet quite like we do, which is why we gave this cozy, loose-fitting sweatshirt a pretty eyelet hem. It’s the kind of piece that looks great with denim now or a flowy skirt later come spring (otherwise known as eyelet season).

  • Cotton.
  • Machine wash.
  • Import.
  • Item L1500.

J.Crew Eyelet Sweatshirt

I was sure that I was going to like this look, but I fell in love with it immediately! It’s definitely more for the casual type wear, but it’s a great layer for the spring months and what to wear in 60 degree weather!

At 60 degrees you don’t need a heavy coat but in Colorado you do need a jacket to keep the wind off. I like the denim jacket.

These are cute looks, and it is so nice to see the thermometer hit “60” here and there. I find I need to figure out how to do layers that I need when starting out, then shed later when it warms up.

In South Florida, 60 degrees is cool to us! Boots and a light jacket or sweater for 50 – 60 degree weather here. The floral dress is cute. The polka dot sweater not so much.

When it get’s above 50 degrees here, I start wearing shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops. It is warm here for such a short time…that 50 degrees feels like a heatwave when coming out of winter!
