First Day of School Signs

The first day of school is a BIG deal, it doesn’t matter what grade you’re going into, it’s a BIG BIG deal. I’m all about creating First Day of School Signs with interview questions attached. I do this every single year and I take photos every single year of the kids holding them up. It’s a special thing for me and it’s something I look forward to and I relish in (seriously).

First Day of School Signs

I love creating First Day of School Signs with Interview Questions because it’s a keepsake that means something to me now and hopefully will mean something to them years from now. It’s cute to see how they answer the same questions from year to year and how they vary from year to year. I’m all about saving these and giving them to the kids someday when they’re heading off to college. Or (most likely) I’ll just keep these forever!

How can you get your kids to answer these questions?

Easy. Sit them to down and ask away! Victoria is 6 years old so she’s not really able to answer these on her own without my help. My sons? They’re a different story. They can power through these questions in minutes. My one ask is that they treat is seriously and not joke around. I really want to know what they want to be someday. I know my son Ben always says, “NFL player.” I love that because regardless of life, I love that he wants to be that RIGHT now.

I came up with these specific questions because I feel like these are the types of questions with answers that actually will change from year to year. These are the kinds of questions that I feel like as you get older, you start to really think about more and more. I love being able to see even what they’re wearing. I know my daughter is much more into her clothes for the 1st day of school than her brothers!

Here are the First Day of School Signs for your kids with the interview questions. Make sure you take a PHOTO of them holding this sign up when they’re DONE! That’s the beauty, too. You save and capture. Let me know what you think and have some fun watching your kids answer these questions, too. I’ve created them for K through 12th grade. Oh, yes… questions need to be answered for 12th graders, too! They don’t get out of it!

I hope these make you excited for your kids! I think that making the 1st day of school memorable is important for your kids. I think they need to know it’s a day to remember and really make it a BIG DEAL. I love making it as big of deal as it can be. My mom used to do this for me and I love looking back at all the photos and special things that she did for me and my sister.

Back to school for me is just the best time of year! From clothing to accessories to activities to reading! I love it all! I’m a big believer in making each kid feel excited about the 1st day, even when they don’t want to be excited for it. I know my sons get excited about even just shopping for clothing for the 1st day and well (really) the first few months of school.

My mom always took our back to school photos but we never had signs and so over the years it became really hard to remember which photos were from which age/grade. These signs are so cute!
