Happy 15th Birthday William!

My William turned 15 years old on Wednesday, September 25th. 15 years old. I started this blog when William was a toddler and now he’s a full-grown teenager! It’s just crazy to me that he’s such a big “kid” now. As much as I miss the days of this little boy running around the house screaming, “Mommy! Mommy!” I love this age right now. William’s a great kid. He’s truly like having an extra adult at home, not to mention – he looks like one now, too!

I know I mentioned it above, but I started blogging back in 2006. William was 2 years old. I started blogging because I wanted to *try* to create a job that we enable me to be home with William and Alexander. I wanted to be there for them as much as possible. The second William was placed on my chest on September 25th, 2004… I knew what unconditional love was right then and there. I knew that I wanted to be with him as much as possible, so creating this blog was a hope for that dream to come true.

15 years of being with my William has been the best ever. Seriously – the best way to describe his birth day for me was that when they gave him to me, I felt like the world was exactly how it should be. Everything suddenly made sense. Everything suddenly was perfect. My little man was finally here.

This was our very 1st photo together… I was so overcome with joy, that I was crying here.

William 15th Birthday

As most of you know, I actually got pregnant with Alexander when William was 3 months old! It’s crazy to think back now and realize that’s how quickly I became pregnant again – and Alex was completely and totally a planned baby – but William became a big brother almost exactly a year after this photo was taken. William truly grew up super quick because his big bro skills had to kick in!

And now… 15 years old. It’s crazy to see the photos laid out like this because you can really see the difference between the years.

William McClelland

He might be 10 inches taller than me now.
He might not need me as much as he used to. And he might like to “make fun” of me with his brothers (even though they secretly know I’m cool ?).

One thing is for sure, I got lucky 15 years ago. I knew I was having a boy. I knew his name would be William. But I just didn’t know how truly lucky I was quite yet. I hit the lottery with this kid. He gave me the best job on earth, being a mom. His mom. I prayed for him very hard and really know he was an answered prayer for me.

And now he’s almost 15. I honestly don’t know how time passes by so quickly. Makes me really hang on to these moments for dear life! I told him that I don’t care how old he is, I’m always taking a birthday picture. Thankfully he doesn’t care. He’s that kinda kid. My smart, kind, funny, witty funny kid! I wish for him in his 15th year that all his hopes and dreams come true this year! Love you lifetimes William!

Happy Birthday to my William!

Happy birthday William! That’s such a fun age. I raised both my boys by myself & they are both living on their own now. Enjoy for as long as you can. Boy, they grow up fast! 🙂

What a lovely and sweet post – and I love that you included a photo from each year! Isn’t it unreal how much change happens in a year, and how fast those years go by???
