10 years ago today, at 4:14 early in the morning, a very special pink bundle arrived in our lives.

MADDIE!

Maddie had decided to come about a week early, but I had seen her Mommy just a couple of day before and said to Barry, “This baby is imminent!”

So it was a Friday night. We had just headed to bed. We got “the call.” We got dressed with hundreds of butterflies stirring in our hearts. We headed the 20 minutes or so to the hospital. We settled in for a long Spring night that didn’t turn out so long.

Maddie arrived within 3 hours. And she was a cuddle-bunny from the first moment.

10 years. 10 years. I almost can’t believe it!

These 10 years have brought us the most precious gift… a beautiful, charming, adventurous, joyous, brilliant little girl. A girl who loves to read and write, dance and swim, sing and draw, create and share. Maddie is nimble and quick, thoughtful and reflective, kind and caring.

Maddie is still that little pink-wrapped cuddle-bunny… but now her reach is the world. She is destined to do great things with her heart and her mind.  She is that special.

I love you, Maddie… forever and ever and ever! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
